Want to keep game in Atlanta? Sorry, we're going independent if you don't rotate Jerry World.
Putting us and OU in the West? Sorry, you have to move Alabama and Auburn to the East, if you don't, we're going independent.

The SEC isn't the Big 12. They won't have that kind of leverage here. The Big 12 (and SWC before that) lived and died by Texas (and, in the Big 12, Oklahoma to a slightly smaller extent).
If Texas comes in and tries to throw its weight around like that and threatens to go independent, then we will let them go independent. Independent is not even really viable in modern college football anyway.

Well, they are a sleeping giant… if they get into the SEC, they will lock up every meaningful SEC recruited and dominate the league for eternity. Feel like people are grossly underestimating UT. Also, they are fricking bully’s that will slowly Try to throw their weight around the conference. I say let them lay in the bed they made with the Big 12. Once they sniff an ounce of success, they will do the same to the SEC.

The SEC is too big for Texas to successfully make threats and demand its way. This isn’t the push over big 12.

You overestimate (way overestimate) how much power Texas will have.
You really think Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and so on, will listen? You really think Texas will go into those states and pull that many recruits? Why haven't they before?
Texas, as everybody else, will have one vote, and will be laughed out of the room if they try anything.
The SEC does not need Texas, Texas needs the SEC to survive. I doubt even Notre Dame will be independent much longer

They don’t give a rats arse about Alabama, Louisiana, or Georgia recruits lol. They will tell them to take a hike and just land multiple #5 star recruits from Texas. If they do that, they will have the #1 class every single year….you grossly underestimate how many players Texas loses simply because they want to play in the SEC lol… that… and UT has more money than every SEC school combined… As big and bad as Bama is, they are nowhere close to marching UT’s resources.

Really Texas brings very little academically or athletically to the SEC after all, and will be laughed out of the room if they threaten to leave (that is assuming the SEC takes them.) In the SEC you are free to go anytime you want, unlike other conferences.
Texas will be the farthest west school the SEC will have, and therefore an outlier.
