You have to tune out stupid responses like this. These kinds of emotional responses are a waste of posting time for the reader.
Any Missouri fan who watched their team give up 50 points to a high school team, would exercise more caution.

As of now, until Mizzou can show it can field an avg defense, I don't think they'll win a conference game. Carolina isn't Missouri State. Cocks are bigger, faster, stronger. South Cack beats the dog shite out of Mizzou.

Well, Mizzou literally ran one defense play call the entire 2cd half...and only gave up 8 points that half. First half? God knows, but whatever it else, it needs to be shelved for good.
CBO has tried to implement a more modern defensive scheme, but it's just not working. There's a lot of moving parts to it and when it doesn't work, it looks like it did on Saturday. You look slow and out of position because the players don't know where to be or what to do. Why that's the case, I don't know, but it needs to be simplified.
So as for the game, I don't actually ever pick Mizzou to lose, even if everything in my head is screaming at me to do so, so, my official prediction is:
Mizzou 56
Gamecocks 52
Both teams will have well over 500 yards of offense, so this one will come down to the turnover battle.

63-59 USC. Neither defense is very good, but Mizzou's is ridiculously bad and that's where USC wins. shite, from the looks of the Missouri St game, if USC does nothing but throw bubble screens to Deebo Samuel, the man might have 500 yds receiving and 8 TDs by himself.

My non-fan opinion as one who watched both games and the Mizzou game twice:
*Mizzou's offense, regardless of playing trash, is SO MUCH more deadly this year for 3 reasons:
1. Last year Lock had 2 real offensive weapons. This year he has 6 WR's who have legit top end speed and 4 of those literally have elite take it to the house speed.
2.The biggest development though is the TE usage. Our TE's are massive and will work the seams like a freaking sweat shop. That wasn't a factor last year.
3. Crocket is a legit starting top end SEC back. His footwork is elite and the entire OL has returned in addition to 2 more healthy additions. He is a legit 1,800 yard threat this season.
The Defense on the other hand is in serious trouble for 2 reasons:
1. Our LB's can't read the miss-direction for their lives. They bit on EVERYTHING in the first half. SC will see this and pre-snap motion the balls out of us.
2. Our secondary blew 3 coverages that resulted in 3 TD's of 70+ yards! They are talented, but somehow don't seem to know the playbook which will lead to giving up big plays. Our DT's are salty, but if they don't get pressure we will get abused.
2.5 Our kicker has a golden leg, but glass nerves. If it comes down to a FG we will be on the losing end.
I don't think there is anyway Mizzou is held under 40 points this game & I don't think there is anyway SC is held under 30 points. If it's over a 7 point game Mizzou will win, if it is under 7 points then SC wins.

I think the 8 pts allowed in the 2nd half more indicative than the 1st half.
USC lost to Citadel and still beat SEC teams.
I wouldn't put your pile all in on the first half of the season.

we only allowed 7 points in the 2nd half. Suck me

I need to rewatch USC's game but based on what I saw (most of Mizzou but only parts of USC) I'm riding with them.

I hope you guys tackle better than you did

So you think we're going to score less than the FCS team lmao
But neither of us knows. This thing could be entertaining as hell. Or not

To beat Mizzou a defense must come up with 3 or 4 stops. I think Cocky can do it. USCe in a shootout.

Having a hard time picking a winner...Can you post the stats that Mizzou State put up?
Posted on 9/5/17 at 11:34 am to BurgTiger
Lock still seems to be staring down his receivers...does not seem to follow his progressions, or am I just making this up?
I think the O will put up points, but turnovers and 12 second drives will further kill the D. SCAR CACKS 48-28.

Basically our game went like this:
1st Half: We score, then they score. They forced 1 punt, we forced 1 fumble. other than that both teams scored every time they touched the ball.
2nd half: we force a punt and score. We cause a fumble and score. Couple of 3 and outs for both teams. They score then get an int. another punt a piece for each team then they turned over on downs the last 2 drives. Offensively nothing to write home about in the second half.

Hmmm, I think I'll go with Mizzou

Mizzou could be like Colorado State , scored 53 against a terrible Oregon State team and could only muster 3 points against a decent Colorado team , I'm not sold on the offense , I think they struggle to score against USCe and lose convincingly.

I think we're going to win because we're going to reach out to Tennessee and borrow their trash can. That obviously is what a team needs to win.

What I know right now is that USC found a way to defy the stats much like we did last night and much like we did last year against Mizzou. They laid a ton of offense on us (broke a UT record) and still lost 63-37. That offense is fantastic stats wise but it somehow stutters and their D allows other offenses to outscore them.
USC showed grit and determination in the NCState game even when the offense sputtered and that is the kind of thing that withstands Mizzou's offense. When a team defies the stats they have something a lot of teams just don't have.
