:04 pm to MSHawg1 So the two best teams are in the SEC East every year? Yeesh.

You KNOW who the two best teams would be. And UGA wouldn’t be one of them. It’s OU and Bamas conference at that point.

In this situation I believe the SEC would do the following.....although I added back in Missouri cause they are not ever gonna be dropped no matter how much you want them to. the St Louis TV market is too big.

If the SEC goes to 16 teams this would be a good start to a larger playoff system. If all the power 5 conferences went to this style them at the end of championship week you would be left with 5 champions, add 3 at large teams for a very solid 8 team playoff that actually started as 20 teams when the regular season ended.

Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Arkansas
Missouri

Ole Miss
Mississippi
LSU
Alabama

Auburn
Vandy
Kentucky
Tennessee

Florda
Georgia
South Carolina
Virginia

3 division games
3 cross division games (1 from each)
3 OCC games

division winners are seeded 1-4

1 vs 4
2 vs 3

winners play in the SECCG

I actually love the pod system idea.

Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Arkansas
Missouri

And

Ole Miss
Mississippi
LSU
Alabama

would play tournament game in Superdome in New Orleans

while

quote:

Auburn
Vandy
Kentucky
Tennessee

and
quote:

Florda
Georgia
South Carolina
Virginia

play their championship in Nashville

The SEC Championship remains in Atlanta. This would be so much fun.

Ala. & Aub. won't be split in divisions nor pods.

"3 cross division games (1 from each)"

You're still forcing Ala. to choose Aub. or Tn..
