The Arkansas men’s basketball team will play in front of its fourth Saturday sell-out crowd this weekend, when the Razorbacks host the Ole Miss Rebels in Bud Walton Arena at 2:30 p.m. The last time the ESPN BPI looked similar to this one, lsu beat arkansas by 20+
• Pioneerbasketball is 0-4 in Gamethreads For 2018
• Arkansas fans have sold out four consecutive Saturday home games, with Ole Miss serving as the third and next Saturday’s Big 12/SEC Challenge against Oklahoma State being the fourth.
• Arkansas has won 31 consecutive games in which it has led at halftime. During Mike Anderson era, the Razorbacks are 116-7 when leading at the intermission.
• Daniel Gafford leads all SEC freshmen and ranks fifth in the nation among rookies in field goal percentage at 63 percent.
• During the last four seasons, Arkansas is tied for second in the SEC in league wins with 36, while Ole Miss is fourth with 34 victories.
• Daniel Gafford’s 40 dunks are more than six SEC teams, including 10 more than Ole Miss has as a program this season.

- The Rebels rank 23rd nationally in assist/turnover ratio (1.4); Deandre Burnett ranks 21st individually (second in the SEC) with a 3.0 assist/turnover ratio, producing eight assists and zero turnovers Tuesday night at Texas A&M.
- Last season,Terence Davis and Deandre Burnett averaged 25.0 ppg and 21.5 ppg, respectively, versus
Arkansas.
- The Rebels are playing back-to-back road games for the first time this season.
- Ole Miss is 12-7 versus Arkansas under Andy Kennedy.

Even when Arkansas is down they can be very tough at home. Ole Miss is better than expected, should be a good game.

People turned years ago, but Mike got a lot of people back after Portis then again with how last year ended. With almost every key piece returning plus a 5 star golden child recruit coming in to fill the one hole we did have, people's expectations went up. They skyrocketed after we beat Oklahoma and have seen what that win turned out to be. To watch this team go from that level of play to what has come out the past 5-6 games has been absolutely maddening.

Well 7 years is not some short stint. It's not like he wasn't given time or resources. I love Mike for all he's done for the university and he will always be a Razorback. But this level of play is not going to be acceptable for much longer. He will probably get another year too but doesn't mean we have to be happy about it.

I think he is a terrific coach. Just wish he could get a better core group of leaders on his team at some point so his team doesn't hit a brick wall in the middle of the season each and every year.
Good news is though that they inevitably get shite figured out and play well down the stretch.
If he can navigate the middle of the year a little better one of these times he's gonna get off that 10-14 seed range and make a deep run in the tournament.

I'm waiting on Miss State. People forget that Howlands first year he lost 6 SR's plus s top recruit who did not pan out after his first season. So realistically he is only in his second year. I like the recruiting he's doing. Next year as I've been saying is our true year to make a big move.

Meh. Same thing was happening last year around this time. His teams don't typically peak in January. In a few weeks all the anti-Mike posts will probably be forgotten, as they were last year.
