If MSU makes it to the NCAA tournament with him again, they have to do their best to trick him into believing its the NIT. He has a great resume in the NIT.

Stumbled over it. Had no idea we were playing today. Watched the 2nd half. Only MSU BB I have watched this season. Playing for top 67 in the country. But, it's fun to watch a win. A win is a win.

Howland’s combined postseason record in the NCAA & NIT is 25-14 so he has done pretty well in both tournaments.

He inherited a weird situation at State. His first team had six or seven seniors that all played. So effectively speaking his second year was his first year. Then in 2018 we made the NIT run. 2019 was a definite disappointment because that team could have made a good run in the NCAA but lost in the first round. Of course last year got zapped. Then this year we started over basically with a whole new team.
This team was wildly inconsistent but has gotten better towards the end of the season.

Looking at things in context helps to understand where a program stands at a given time.

Glad we won but...20+ turnovers and an atrocious offense. Missing a starter but these points stand every game.

So including tonight. States gonna play in 3 games and the NIT will be finished before Alabama tips off against UCLA.

Great planning NCAA Tournament.

When DJ blew that layup with about 5 minutes remaining I thought State was going to gift Richmond the win. Man did he redeem himself later

Damn shame Stansbury couldn't get it done last night against La Tech. Beating him H2H would have been a great opportunity to shut a large portion of our fanbase up.

Congrats State - here's to MSU winning 3 consecutive NIT trophies so South Carolina will no longer be known for winning 2 consecutive NIT trophies.

I still cant believe MSU is paying Howland so much to suck it up.

I guess you got to pay good money to make someone live in Starkville.

Place is the worst in the SEC and its not close.

I'm beginning to think he brought his gf down to Starkville for a game one time and went home single
