Feeling really bad for Cock fans right now

Not only are they facing a situation where Clemson just solidified itself as the flagship football brand of their state for the rest of their lifetimes,
but
no one here is sympathetic to their plight because everyone would rather laugh at A&M and Bama instead.
Oh and next year a little bit of all their cable bills go to the ACC Network to keep Dabo's Dynasty going.
Really sucks for them.

It always has when it's come to football.
It's pretty much calloused at this point.

And they'll be 80,000 lunatics at our home opener this fall who think Ryan Hilinski will take us to the promised land.

Mussie isn't the answer in SC. Mussie will never be the answer for any program TBH and secretly, Cock fans know this as well.

This is wrong.
***Disclaimer: I would feel much worse for them if they didn't steal all my basketball joy on Saturday.

I don't quite know the situation of Clemson. Do they have a high amount of big money donors? They spend a crap ton of money on coaches and facilities. How are they outperforming USCe so badly when USCe has SEC money?
They've went from a tier 2 program in 2011 getting beat by WVU 70-33 to a blueblood overnight.

Yeah but yall had real hope for a while when Spurrier went on that streak against Dabo that you were close to a turning point where yall could imagine a world where yall were top dog in that state.
Clemson has always seemed like the better program in the modern age, but the gap never felt insurmountable like A&M vs Texas or UCLA vs USC. It always felt like either program making moves could turn the tide.
Then when Clemson got that first title your hope was crushed for a decade or more. But not forever, one title wouldn't build a moat. But two titles? Two titles solidifies Clemson as the flagship of South Carolina for the rest of our lifetimes.
There is no hope left for USC now, and if anything the memories of the days of hope not that long ago are more painful than memories of complete failures in the years before.
I get it completely. If Texas joins the SEC before we win a title I will check out of this sport. I wouldn't blame yall to do the same.

We don't put the emphasis on football that they do.
We'd rather be the "well rounded" athletic program.
I don't follow much of anything besides football and Men's Hoops (and realistically not that much for that either) but people have always told me the entire AD of SC is more well rounded than Clemson.
really couldn't care less.

They stuck with a young coach who had a good message even when the results were not there and hit the jackpot when the bet paid off. That is the situation at Clemson.

They're all in. South Carolina is somehow the 15th most valuable college football program in the country (per Forbes) despite our years of losing. However, our administration is a damn country club and we have a moron as an AD. Clemson will do whatever it takes to win in football, while we tout winning the Palmetto Series as an achievement because we cleaned house in women's sports.

That blows. Sounds like a situation where you guys are the State's flagship University so the athletic department feels the need to do the best for all South Carolinians than dump all the money into football. Would suck to have an instate program that just puts all their eggs in 1 basket to kick arse.

Even when we had the streak, we have nothing to show for it besides those wins (okay one east title in a year we went 5-3 in the division) and Clemson was still winning the ACC and playing in BCS bowls.

thats a no from me dog.
I've said this before and don't feel to type it again but college football to me is not about the wins and losses.
This is my school, I graduated from USC, I have family that went there too, It's played a big part of my life, I'm not just going to check out.
Yea we won't win in my lifetime, but it's still a fun an unique experience that not many these days can enjoy.

Clemson was founded in the late 1880's out of a serious political feud between the planter class, represented by Wade Hampton and his allies at South Carolina College and the Citadel, and the farmer class, represented by Ben Tillman.
The Hampton faction opposed the creation of Clemson and its chartering only passed by a vote I believe. The hatred Clemson people had for USC was so strong that Tillman's nephew, Lieutenant Governor James Tillman, murdered the editor of The State newspaper in broad daylight for being critical of the Tillman faction.
This political rivalry transferred itself to the football field. Clemson's administration has one primary objective: to humiliate and embarrass USC on the football field. And they succeed almost every year.

And even with that, They've beat us 3 years in a row in basketball.
Even the year we went to the Final Four

Clemson and USC have not been very separated in Baseball and Men's BB recently.

Couldn't really tell you much about this besides we won titles a few years back, I don't follow this sport so I'll take your word

Men's BB
Outside of our final four run, which seems now like a fluke, it's just two mediocre to bad programs that no one really seems to care about on both sides of the rivalry.
They beat us this year but we really didn't get much shite since Clemson was busy preparing for a national title in football.

that doesn't make any sense given Clemson has better overall W-L record than SC in baseball, 2 natties in soccer and two other title games in soccer, a men's golf title, etc.
Clemson's women's basketball has a better program W-L than SC despite SC being better recently.

that SC team was only a 7 seed and had a mediocre record.
