I may very well be that Rogers was trying to extort $ from the Newtons but that only makes sense if he knows the goods are out there to nail them, like tape recorded conversation where Cam's dad asks for $.......which would still mean that Cam was ineligible all season.
Or unless he's just a sleazy idiot. All the speculation on both sides is old. Every theory and excuse and possibility has been rehased 100x from both sides. All we can do now is wait and see what happens... If Rogers has tapes where are they? Play them and be done with it all.

Before I click, which one of those provides proof that Rogers extorted the Newtons?
Must not be keeping up with this as much as the rest of the country.
There is no proof of anything in this entire circus.
You basically have Rogers claiming Cecil Newton asked for money. Rogers asked John Bond and Bill Bell for money on behalf of Cecil Newton (confirmed by both Bond & Bell).

FBI was involved because it was a possible extortion case
If Rogers is under FBI investigation for extortion, why does he volunteer info on the radio yesterday? If I'm under investigation, I go under a rock.
You ever think he was trying to extort money FROM MSU and it's boosters?
He is the only person talking about money in this whole circus. He asked Bond and Bell for money, on behalf of Cecil Newton. It sounded as if he was trying to point all fingers at Newton instead of at him yesterday.
Bond has turned on him. Especially since the FBI is involved. Bell is out of the country. So, too bad, he can't collaborate your story.
Rogers sounded as if he was trying to save his own arse yesterday.

Tells a lot about his cronies, aka cecil and cam, too. You gotta be a shady dude to have business dealings with Rogers.

This makes zero sense
How do you extort someone for something they did not do? The story broke before Rogers said one word, then he denied it, now he recants. How exactly does extortion work in this case, when the allegations (truthful I might add) were made way back in January??????
Damn, face it. The newtons shopped cam. Either they were extorting MSU, or they shopped him and Rogers was extorting them. Either way, Cam was shopped by someone in order for there to be extortion.
Shopping = loss of amateur status (per NCAA)
Cam = toast. His college days are done

All of this different info is blurry in my already murky mind......hasn't it been reported/claimed that someone has recording of Cam's dad asking for $ and that these have been turned over to the FBI?!?

Somehow, I'm not sure we're both still talking about the same thing anymore.
Either that, or you're trying to nudge the conversation in a completely different direction.

there were stories at one point that both Cam and his father were on tape asking for money... with another quote from Cam saying something along the lines of "the money was too much to pass up"
If they have Cam or his father on tape asking for money it's a slam dunk he's ineligible... IMO they are digging through financial records to see if they can prove he was paid and sort out who is going to suffer what legal consequences

Because he knows the FBI is investigating him and he is trying to throw as much dirt on MSU, Auburn and Newton as he can to try to sway opinion.

Nope, I'm pretty sure I have it right.
You have Rogers & his attorney claiming Cecil Newton asked for money.
You have Bonds & his attorney, Bell & his attorney, claiming Rogers contacted them on behalf of Cecil Newton asking more money.
Mullen has said shite. So good job on that one.
And two unnamed coaches put out 2 5 word quotes that didn't reveal all that much.
MSU didn't say shite on the subject. So a double good job on that one.

Dipshit?
Aww, I get under your skin there little guy?
So according to you, MSU turned all this in in January and July. So, then, you think the NCAA was going to just sit on their hands while supposedly Cecil Newton asked for 200k for his son's signature? Doesn't that sound pretty fricking serious to you? You do realize that Cam had to gain his eligibility through the NCAA? You think they grant that if they even SUSPECT he was paid off? You think the NCAA wants this constant circus being performed right now that will tarnish the rest of this year? You don't think that the Reggie Bush case was bad enough?
Really?
Really?
Really?
No, I'm sure the word of Kenny Rogers is all that is needed to put this one to rest.
And by the way... the only statement from MSU that I read was...
quote:
Mississippi State's athletic department acknowledged in a statement Wednesday that it contacted the Southeastern Conference office in January regarding it's recruitment of Newton
IT'S

You seem to be the only one on here that has shite under your skin (and obviously between your ears). You have been on here defending Cam Newton, who has already had to depart from another S.E.C school because he was a scum bag. Keep that blind fold on slick and you will be sure to walk right into the Newton wall of shame.

MSU released a complete timeline of their involvement. Where have you been?
And Cam's father was quoted about the tapes “I’ve answered what I need to answer,” Cecil Newton said. “If they’re out there, go with it and make the decision or determination based on whatever you’ve got to say.” Are you suffering from a brain injury?

According to the SEC office they(MSU) also left out anything about phone calls to "recruiters" and any meeting involving 2 coaches where money was discussed. Who the frick rats out another school and then forgets to send in the smoking gun (ETA) dipshit?

According to MSU, they turned over everything.
So to answer your question, idk who would rat on someone without turning in the smoking gun, sir.

Exactly and according to the SEC office neither the alleged phone call to recruiters, as alleged by Schaad, nor the meeting involving 2 coaches, Rogers and Newton, as alleged by Rogers in his interview yesterday, is included in any report.
ETA I apologize for the dipshit comment. That was not called for.
