I've been to every SEC state except Missouri and SCar; but only spent significant time in a few other than Louisiana. How would you describe each state's relationship to its SEC programs?

My estimations-

Alabama: it seemed like 90% of ppl were Bama fans and 10% were Auburn. Both very rabid in their support

Mississippi: I'd say most people are State or UM fans, but a majority of them seem lukewarm (at least in FB), I guess all the years of losing/mediocrity will do that to you.

Louisiana: I'd guess about 30% of people are rabid LSU fans. The majority will support LSU, but aren't as committed.

Tennessee: I spent most time in western and middle Tennessee, not near UTK; but I remember being surprised how little UT stuff I saw (this was when they were still good in FB)

Arkansas: It seemed like everyone there was a Hog fan to some extent; but I'm not sure how many are "diehards," didn't spend enough time there to tell.

East is strong UT territory but West and Middle are more mixed. Middle still has lots of UT fans

South Carolina is generally evenly split between Gamecock and Clemson people. I would say Clemson has more Wal-Mart type fans because of their recent success. Besides the state of Alabama, I don't think you'll see a higher percentage of college tags on cars than you do in the Palmetto State.

Alabama is more like 70/30. Auburn has more actual alumni, but bama has the sidewalk fans. East TN is all UT. Middle TN used to be prior to the Pro sports coming. In Middle TN you see a lot of Predator stuff these days. If UT gets good again, their fans will come out of hiding.

East Tennessee should be it’s own state. frick most of the rest of the state.

Edit: I should add that so many people from surrounding states move to Tennessee to escape abject poverty so I’m sure that skews things.

Everyone in Louisiana supports LSU except for south Arkansas (North LA). Other than that they may support their alma mater like Tech, ULL, or Nicholls When they play LSU. When it comes To most things it’s LSU though.

? Most people are LSU fans, but as a state, I don't think we are rabid like Alabama. Tbf that's not necessarily a bad thing, I don't want us to be known as a bunch of Updykes

Agreed, elite user, Da’rick. I would add the plateau up until Nashville for VOLS country but certainly Chattanooga, Knoxville, and the TRI carry VOLS. always have and always will.

I always heard that north La. is 100% LSU when it comes to college, but more Cowboys than Saints when it comes to pros (which is understandable)

Mississippi is probably 50% State, 35% Ole Miss, and 15% Bama, LSU, Southern Miss. Once you start adding in Memphis, Ole Miss percentage gets bigger.

You crazy bastards threaten people’s family when a La kid commits to a school outside the state. Naw, y’all aren’t rabid.

I'm old enough to remember when Mizzou was as popular as the pro teams. Unfortunately that all changed when the administration neglected the program in the 80's. Drink has a tall task in front of him.

Almost like an anonymous Twitter account isn't representative. I don't think everyone in east Texas is a redass or former milkman
