I have no other reason why Tua wasn’t a overwhelming winner

STATS... STATS.... STATS STATS STATS STATS.... Errrybody!

He let the Kyker conversation really kick up after his Miss State game and then had a bad game, hurt or not, against Georgia.

I think he would have won it if he had played a good game against Georgia.

It is what it is, no big deal.

He is made out of glass and bama probably loses the Georgia game if he stays healthy. He has two, maybe 3 first round receivers that he throws to every Saturday.

Tua was punished for the Georgia game. Plain and simple. He was injured, didn't play overly great, then Jalen Hurts came in and led Alabama back to the win, basically giving the implication that Alabama doesn't need Tua to win. That is ultimately what happened.

Also, even though the Heisman is not supposed to be an MVP award I think Kyler got some votes because he was most likely the college football MVP.

Tua played in 2017, Bama was blowing people out last year and Tua was there for cleanup. Don’t act like he’s never seen the field before this year.

I don't have a problem with Kyler winning and I fully expected him to win. But, if you are going to base it on stats and importance to the team, then the lack of points voting Dwayne Haskins got comparatively was the real shocker to me. He put up historical numbers and was every bit as important to Ohio State as Kyler was to Oklahoma. Ohio State probably loses 4 or 5 games without Haskins.

Voters are tired of Alabama's dominance over college football. They had the chance to vote for another player from another conference and they ran with it.

Same thing happened with Trent Richardson and the Heisman vote. How quick we forget.

The UGA game cost him. That was the last game the voters saw. Murray had a great game and Tua had a really bad game. Murray is very deserving of the award.

Because his team is the best in the nation. It is not like he is carrying the team by himself. He did not have to win a single game by having to make a play.

With QB's it's production measured by numbers. And his actual production went down then cratered against Georgia.

I don’t agree with including any games past the regular season in reguards to voting. It should be a regular season award as not all players eligible to play in conference championship games. The votes should have been cast after the last regular season games. It is done this way for most if not all of the other major awards. I have always felt this way and this isn’t the 1st year I have stated this. Tua had the better regular season and was the #1 choice at the end of the regular season and should have won the award. If you are going to include the post-season then include the whole post season. There are still 1-2 games left for the top 2 vote getters. Makes no sense.

Take Tua off the team and Bama still wins 10-11 games

Take Murray off the team and OU is 6-6

But lets not kid ourselves. Had Tua done to Georgia what he had done to LSU (or everyone else), we wouldn't be having this conversation.

If he hadn't gotten injured on the first drive, I think he would've played much better than he did. That also doesnt change the fact that our receivers were dropping passes left and right either.

And Murray has probably the best offensive line in the country and played in a conference with generally poor defenses. Yes, Murray had to play more because Oklahoma ended up in several shootouts, but how is it Tua's fault that his defense was better?

Murray deserved the Heisman. No complaints here. But Tua was equally deserving.

I generally don't care that he didn't win. We have more important things to worry about. However someone mentioned stats was the reason. If that's true the Haskins should have won it. His stats were better than Murray's. Also saw that someone is suggesting that Murray won it because Ou would have been 6-6 without him. Which to me is the craziest argument there is. You going to give someone a Heisman because their team is worse??? Lol. Tua didn't lose a game, unlike Murray. Even hurt led his team to 21 points vs Ga and was driving again when he was reinjured. Did Murray battle through anything like that? To me its Bama fatigue more than anything else. Or maybe its the rec realizing he didn't quite need it this year ;)

It was a feel-good story for the B12, which the media wants desperately to remain relevant. That, and more anti-SEC bias.

this

and his one bad game - those of you dogging Tua for what he put on the field this season is a joke. That was one of the great college football QB seasons in history.

I bleed purple but this is a great kid and had a Heisman season. Tua dropped dimes on the those great WR's he had all year just like he did to bring Bama the NC in 2017.

I know this fact - If get to pick my 1st guy to start my new team - Tua is my first pick period.

The fact he is a humble young man of faith that has his head screwed on straight adds to his greatness !
