Just doing this for shits and giggles. Don't @ me.

I've included the team's final college football playoff ranking in parenthesis if it differed from the seeding shown here.

*denotes team is an automatic conference champion qualifier.

Of Note: This would’ve been the first time in the CFP era where a Power 5 Conference is left out of the 12 team model. Oregon won the Pac-12, but Cincinnati and Coastal Carolina both were their respective conference champions and finished higher than Oregon in the final CFP poll. Also, be damned this Covid year.

Round 1
Georgia vs Cincinnati
They actually met in the Peach Bowl this year. UGA won 24-21.

Notre Dame vs Coastal Carolina
ND split games with Clemson and was knocked out in the semis this year by Alabama. CC’s best win was over 13th ranked BYU by 5 and lost to Liberty in the Cure Bowl. As much as I’d like to send Coastal all the way to mirror their 2016 College Baseball National Championship/Cinderella Story. It isn’t in the stars.

Indiana vs. TAMU
TAMU’s only loss was to eventual champion, Alabama. They had wins over No.4 Florida and No. 13 North Carolina. The Hoosiers lost to Ohio State and an unranked Ole Miss in the Outback Bowl. If you’re wondering how TAMU did vs. Ole Miss… it was cancelled. Purdue did beat Penn State in the opener, but IMO the Big 10 shouldn’t even be allowed in this tournament with the way they flubbed all the COVID nonsense. Give me the Aggies.

Florida vs. Iowa State
If it weren’t for a thrown shoe UF could be coasting their way to victory over Coastal Carolina, but instead get a tougher hand with Iowa State. The Cyclones keep it close, but UF’s resume is far superior and I think they pull this one off…

Quarters
Alabama vs. Georgia
While I think Georgia keeps it closer than the 41-24 shellacking they took earlier this year. Bama is rested and ready. Nick Saban with more than a week to prepare is deadly. Roll Tide.

Notre Dame vs Oklahoma
I actually think ND had a decent team last year. Meanwhile Oklahoma had two unranked losses. Albeit Iowa State ended up being a lot better than we thought. Oklahoma demolished a solid Florida team 55-20 in the Cotton Bowl to finish the season. I believe Lincoln Riley shows he didn’t inherit the Big Game choke mentality from Stoops and wins this one.

Ohio State vs. Texas A&M
Both teams lost to Alabama this year by the exact same score. I’m going to give TAMU the nod here again because I the Big10 screwed the pooch this year.

Florida vs. Clemson
Give me Clemson on the thought that Florida is banged up after a tough win in round 1. Also maybe because they weren’t that good.

Semifinals
Alabama vs. Oklahoma
Alabama was pretty damn good this year… Oklahoma did hold Florida to substantially less points than Bama was able to, but they aren’t stopping Alabama long enough to pull off a W. Alabama wins this one with ease.

Texas A&M vs. Clemson
I think Clemson got the benefit of the doubt from preseason hype and name recognition and all of the above. They weren’t as good as they have been. TAMU in this one.

Final
Alabama vs. Texas A&M
Bama Wins…Offseason drama… The PAC-12 is in uproar about group of 5 teams taking playoff spots and then continuously getting ousted in round 1. Everyone outside of the SEC is pissed about another all SEC championship game (the least watched championship game since the early 2000s). SEC accredits it to fatigue from too many post season games. NCAA votes to reduce playoffs to four teams. Full circle.

Where's the one from 2019? I want to see if LSU would have gone 16-0.

It’s somewhere further down. Check my post history if you can’t find it.

Spoiler alert… they do.

Nvm just realized it’s not there anymore. I’m not sure what happened to it.

I’ll have to repost when I get back to my computer….
