Cutcliffe had some historically talented teams at Ole Miss and managed a single 10 win Cotton Bowl. He was consistently outcoached by the opponent's coach.

SEC is a lot tougher now than in his time.

Ole Miss, Harry Meher, preceded Vaught so gets lost by that but had some very good teams that competed well in late 30s early 40s.

Cutcliffe brought your first 10-win season in 32 years. Won a portion of a division title. And had literally one losing season. He went 4-1 in bowl games. He went 4-2 against State. He won more times in Baton Rouge than any coach since since him. Ask Peyton or Eli Manning both will tell you he is an elite play caller. Yall got way too big for yourselves when you fired him and ended up with Coach O. Ill never understand firing him for one losing season lol.

Then why didn't any SEC teams, particularly Tennessee, go after him when he was available?

Cutcliffe sucked arse as a head coach and was a lazy arse recruiter. His practices were a joke. If it wasn't for Eli and Deuce, he wouldn't have had any winning seasons.

There were people who wanted him but by the time the Fulmer era was over people wanted new young faces top to bottom. Thats why we hired a young flashy west coast offensive coach to come to Knoxville. However he was too young and too immature. Do you know who I am referring to lol

Cutcliff won 10 games at Ole Miss and Duke (the only 10 win season in its history). If that isn't impressive then idk what is. Yall have won 10 games 5 times since 1975. idk how you can put him down lol

Wasn’t he the “Fourth and Dumb” coach?

Saban was at LSU, Meyer was at Florida, Fulmer was at Tennessee, Tuberville was at Auburn, Orgeron was at Ole Miss, Spurrier was at South Carolina he was going up against national champion coaches.

Yeah, and defenses were stronger back then before all the wimpy rule changes. Nutt did a good job especially considering he was working with mostly 3 star players who had to be developed.

Also Broyles made sure that his offense was mostly ground oriented. He said you can’t win in the SEC without running the ball.

I don’t know why some of our so called fans hate the guy so much.

It took us a long time to recover from Cutcliffe. Thankfully, Orgeron was a good recruiter.

Because Nutt tanked the most talented team he ever had due to petty jealousy. Blew a landmark season in the process. He made dumb mistakes time and again. He had much better players than you admit. He was 2-5 in bowl games. I could go on.

Very strange career

Probably the hottest coach in the country in the 40's and then his career pretty much fizzled in the 50's.Dont think he was above .500 for the decade and was dominated by GT and Bobby Dodd.

And not a single "big program" offered him a HC job. I think people see what he did with Eli as a QB at Ole Miss and give him way too much credit. Again, super nice guy but not a very good HC.

I do reference facts. Reggie Fish's muffed punt return. (Tiny hands, no experience.) Code red on Mustain. Best season was with Danny Ford's team. Again, I can go on with facts.

I said it’s your opinion so you get credit for it, don’t ask me to agree with your hate dude.

I saw plenty of great games while Nutt was here, too bad you couldn’t enjoy any of it….. good grief…

Now, don't be a binary extremist. See the parts in between. "Hate" was your word. I had good times. That's what made the idiocy and pettiness all the more frustrating and pointless. You know I'm right. Nutt screwed us over.

Wrong.

Ours is Gerry Dinardo. He laid the foundation for the house that Saban built.

Second place would be Ed Orgeron. Only because of the amount of vitriol the Rantards have for him.

Nobody hates their NC coaches more than a ranter.
