Kept saying this would happen and many here said nuh SEC SEC IS TOO BIG FOR THAT!!!

Select SEC football games return to ESPN+ this fall and all 14 schools will appear on the platform once this season. These ESPN+ matchups will also be simulcast on SEC Network+, with both streams accessible in the ESPN App via connected devices.

Well buckle up buttercup it's only going to get worse. In just a couple more years you won't get SECN+ free w/your cable sub anymore. W/in 5 years (probably less) we are going to be getting conference games locked onto their subscription service as well.

It's also only a matter of time before they force games onto Friday and Thursday nights every single week. Don't be surprised if the main SECN ends up being subscription streaming only in the next 10 or so years too.

You don’t get secn+ with your cable sub now lol. Wanna know how I know you haven’t watched many baseball games this year?

You'd be wrong to assume that.

I've watched roughly half of A&M's baseball games this year. I get ESPN+ w/my Disney+/Hulu bundle so I haven't had to deal w/getting locked out of ESPN+ content.

I was under the impression that as long as you get SECN w/your cable you get access to SECN+ but if that's not the case the shite sandwich is even further along than I thought.

Well only if it was talking about baseball. They are talking football games in the fall on ESPN+. Most everyone knows most that most baseball games already come on the streaming channel, and that’s the only way to watch. Now putting football on ESPN+ will make a lot of fans unhappy.

Anything with the “+” is subscription based.

As of last year the ESPN+ will start getting you going forward. Starts with this year but all sports will partially get moved to ESPN+. It’s only starting with some but ESPN lost 20% of its cable customers this year and $70 doesn’t come close to making up for that revenue

With the money we saved dropping Dish and switching to Hulu, idc. I wanna say ESPN+ is included in our Disney bundle, but if not, we’ll just get it once we have to. What’re you gonna do? Not watch your damn team play? Lol. They have us over a barrel and they know it.

I do

If you get cable at a full price, then that will work.

If you have HULU live, you can stream both espn+ and sec+.

ESPN + honestly isn’t a bad deal for those of you who really like sports. I don’t watch TV outside of sports so if I’m looking for something I’ll put on rugby or Aussie rules football or some shite. There’s always cool stuff on there.

They're doing this with a recession on the way? There is no recession on the way or true economic downturn with all of the subscription businesses making money like they are.

Counterpoint: ESPN+ is a good product at an affordable price that allows you access to watch a ton of football, basketball, and baseball games every year

Who cares if that’s how you have to watch one less desirable game a year?

Charter/Spectrum includes it. I stream my spectrum service and use those credentials to log into the ESPN app on all of my TVs. I’ve watched all but a couple Tennessee Baseball games this way.

B/c it's not going to stop at one game a year and the price is not going t stay so low for long. The more cable subs they bleed the higher the price will go.
