The 100 people getting cut are all “on-air talent,” a label ESPN uses for TV personalities, radio hosts, and writers who regularly appear on TV and radio. (ESPN says it has 1,000 such people, prior to these cuts.)

they will be notified today

White males that work at ESPN better find a hole to hide in today.

Looks like Sam Khan got the boot. I enjoyed his coverage.

If they can even cut 100 on-air personalities it means they have too many on-air personalities in the first place.

Ed Werder cut as well.

Of course they won't cut fricktards like Mike Golic, Mike Greenberg, Jamele Hill, Stephen A. Smith, Mark May, Danny Kannell, Joey Galloway, Lowell Galindo, etc.

They won't all be on-air personalities, but there will be some who have been there a long time that will be let go. Dan Patrick said earlier that Ed Werder had already been informed he was out.

Sucks but ESPN has been pretty crappy for a while now. I haven't watched SportsCenter in forever and I used to watch it once or twice a day religiously.

SVP is the only one I care to watch or listen to there anymore.

I don't think that it's a matter of quality in production, but falling revenues (decrease in subscriptions) and increasing costs.

They massively overspent for rights to MNF/CFP/NBA, etc..

Passed it on to the consumer and people have cut cable.

College sports getting hit hard.

Clay Travis has been saying this for a while now. Soon there will be zero white men working there.

It is more than that.

I watch ESPN for games only now. I can get all the political commentary and agenda pushing I want from the news channels, so bye-bye ESPN unless the ball is in play.

Does this affect the SEC Network? I like the main SECN people minus Finebaum.

Honestly, I would have no problem with their coverage reflecting the racial/ethnic percentages of the athletes themselves.

Of course that would mean no female announcers for most major sports.

I wish ESPN would quit trying to force political topics down my throat and that's my main gripe. I pay a decent amount of attention to politics but I don't want to hear it on every medium possible. If I want sports, I want sports. That's it. I don't see why race of the incoming talent is an issue though.
The SC6 program is garbage for example. It is boring af and Jamele and Michael are talentless on the air personalities, so obviously race isn't the reason why the show is horrible.
