ESPN Report: Tennessee is Freeze’s “preferred landing spot”

The big question with South Carolina surrounds Freeze, who is becoming a central figure of this carousel (more on that later). Although he told ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski he is not entertaining other opportunities, Freeze seemingly checks the boxes South Carolina needs: recruiting, quarterback development, dynamic offense, unafraid of the SEC behemoths. His Ole Miss tenure ended very badly, from NCAA recruiting violations to personal conduct that included calls to a female escort service. But if South Carolina wants to challenge Georgia and Florida in the SEC East, Freeze, perhaps more than any realistic candidate, understands what it would take.
However, several industry sources say Tennessee is the preferred landing spot for Freeze. Tennessee certainly could wait a year, see whether Pruitt improves the program in 2021 and then make a run at Freeze. But a poor finish, especially a loss this week against winless Vanderbilt, or a South Carolina push for Freeze, could change the thought process.
“Tennessee’s always in play,” an industry source said.

Thread about Liberty HC’s interest in Tennessee job, LSU poster Sidewalk immediately posts about Bama’s HC.

You realize, like usual, all of Freeze’s success came from a transfer QB
He’s a poor man’s Gus.

Pruitt isn’t getting fired

Do wins with transfer QBs not count? Will he not be allowed to take them anymore?

Freeze has had more success than most against Saban.
Tennessee is one of your biggest rivals.
Surely even a Bammer can connect those dots, maybe not though.

I never understood why folks try to use "transfer quarterback" as some type of asterisk.
Whats the difference in recruiting a high school kid or a transfer kid?

Look at all these A1abana fans replying to you
VOLS getting FREEZE would be an absolute nightmare for them. Sabah would probably just retire.

What?!
Why isn't LSU going after him?

Seems like an easy choice for UT.

He was 2-3 with the two wins being by a combined 11 points. But your statement is factually correct. Most coaches in the SEC have never beaten Saban, and certainly not twice.

If this is true probably need to fire Germy tonight.
Of course, knowing Tennessee, they'd do that and then Freeze would go to USC and Tennessee would hire Scott Cochran.

Plus it was at Ole Miss.
20% of Ole Miss' wins over Alabama are by Freeze.

First Gruden, now Freeze. Poor Tennessee fans. They’ll probably have to hire some Wide Receiver coach from New Mexico St. instead.

certainly better than Ed Orgeron, who has only 1 victory vs Saban, same as the number of times he pussed out of a game.
