ESPN Heisman Watch - Week 1

1. Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
2. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
3. Tuna Tagovailoa, QB, Alabana
- Notable: Alabama started slow in the first half against Duke before hitting the gas pedal in the second half behind Tagovailoa, who threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns. Last year's Heisman runner-up finished 26-for-31 over nearly three full quarters of play.
4. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
5. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
6. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
7. JOE BURROW, QB, LSU
- Notable: The Tigers quarterback tied an LSU single-game record with five TD passes before halftime in a blowout win over Georgia Southern, finishing 23-for-27 for 278 yards in essentially one half of football. He helped LSU score 42 of its 55 points in the first half.
8. D'Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
- Notable: Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm receives much of the attention in Athens, but Swift has shown to be just as important to No. 3 Georgia. Against Vandy, the star RB rushed for 149 yards on 16 carries, including one for 36 yards.
9. Jared Judy, WR, Alabama
- Notable: Judy could arguably be Tagovailoa's top pass-catcher this season, and he showed it in Week 1, with 137 yards receiving and a touchdown -- including an average of 13.7 yards per catch. He's Mel Kiper's No. 1 NFL draft prospect for 2020 for a reason, and he played a key role in Bama's win over Duke on Saturday.
10. Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State (?)

If Lincoln Riley has 3 straight quarterbacks win the Heisman - sheesh.
#10 was interesting to me. Are FCS players eligible to win the Heisman? Or did NDSU move up?

FCS players can technically win it, but it'll probably never happen. Steve Mcnair had one of the the best cases when he played and I think he finished third 94 or 95 ish I think

Tua isn't even the best QB at Alabama.

For your health and safety, LSU needs to beat Bama soon! I'm sincerely worried about you if this streak keeps going!

Jalen Hurts 2017 vs Fresno St/Colorado St/Mercer
33/42 (79%)
556 yards
6 TD / 0 INT
13.2 YPA
Jalen has never struggled throwing the ball when defenses are struggling to cover his receivers or slow his running game.

I haven't decided what is more stupid, your statement or the 5 idiots that decided to give you an upvote for such an idiotic statement!
That may have been the dumbest thing I've read on here and that's saying something!

So he'll have those numbers until he plays TCU.
I don't think they'll play anything else resembling a good defense. Texas maybe?

How is Trevor Lawrence above JB? Talk about a press infatuation with this kid. I get it, he’s good, but his stats, week one shouldn’t have him in that position.
