Erik Ainge is the very definition of someone who was born on third base.

But instead of hitting a home run, his greatest accomplishment was winning an Outback Bowl.

It would be different if Stetson was putting up average stats and leading the team to wins riding on the coattails of everyone else. The guy has played in 3 CFP games and led 4th Q comebacks in two of them.

It takes a certain amount of cockiness to go toe to toe against a possible #1 overall draft pick when you are a under 6ft kid from Blackshear, GA. Surely Ainge of all people could understand that.

yessir.

Stetson is 3-0 in CFP games and was the MVP in each game. It's just pure jealousy at this point. Stet has

He also may be familiar to Georgia fans because he finished 3-0 vs Georgia as QB at Tennessee going a combined 54-81 with 4 tds and 0 ints. UT outscored UGA 105-63 with Ainge as starting QB.

Lmao. Now do his accomplishments outside of beating Georgia. 2008 Outback Bowl MVP? Averaging 8-4 as a starter lol. It’s clear as day why he is openly talking shite about a former walk on. Ainge was a highly recruited HS kid who was 6’5” and had all the tools but never did shite lmao

The name Erik Ainge might sound familiar to Georgia fans, and that's because it should. He was also the same person who said "Playing between the hedges is overrated" and that Sanford Stadium is "not that loud" prior to Georgia's game against Tennessee this season.

Erik Ainge also beat UGA both times he played in Athens and 3/4 times he played UGA in college. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's where this comment comes from.

Still weird.

The majority of accomplished former players (Tebow comes to mind) appreciate how much late-night work, injury rehab, and film study go into competing at the highest levels. So whenever they see a player at a former rival succeed, they at least respect the process.

Ainge just seems like a miserable prick.

He won the East 2x, was a freshman all-american, and had pretty good junior and senior seasons

I honestly hate when people say this on here as it always means something different depending on the discussion.

He had a solid college career. He missed time in 2004 after breaking his collar bone and was benched his sophomore season, but in his career he still threw for almost 9000 yards and 72 TDs and UT had 10, 9, and 10 win seasons while he was there (while winning his division twice). Was he spectacular? No. Did he "never do shite"? I'd say he accomplished more than that.

Nope, not at all. Much respect for most good QB's that beat "my" team. Quit acting like this is not a real thing.

I wonder if he’d trade that for a national championship. Tennessee fans certainly would.

He was a high school All-American and never made an All Conference team in 4 years and averaged 8-4 seasons at Tennessee. For him to shite talk Bennett is laughable and compared to the walk on QB - I stand by what I said in that he didn’t do shite.

Winning the East isn’t nothing but it’s also not an accomplishment to hang your hat on imo. Never even went to a major bowl. His biggest achievement is Outback Bowl MVP. In terms of 3 year starters at a major university he was very OK and don’t really achieve anything.

Of course he’s a miserable prick. He was a 6’5” HS All American with multiple offers. Went to a Tennessee program 5 years removed from Peyton Manning and ppl told him he “looked just like Peyton and would win a national title and play in the NFL”

Never had an All Conference season and averaged 8-4 as a starter. Never took an NFL snap. The guy is a chode.

I am genuinely curious. What is it about Bennett that you don't like? What singles him out?

I assume that this is derived from UT’s disappointment over Hooker not being invited to the Heisman ceremony.

I'm sure it is. What I don't get is UT fans hating Bennett for something he had nothing to do with. He didn't pick himself to go to NY. If they are mad, be mad at the committee, not Bennett.

VolNavy98 is still out of his mind over Bennett. It's surreal, really.

Stetson has every right to be a little smug given all the criticism and BS he’s gotten from the media. He’s proved the entire world wrong time and time again.

He was the 10th rated pro-style QB in his class. He was a solid recruit but it wasn't like he was viewed as a can't miss 5 star who busted.

His two losses in the SECCG were to undefeated Auburn and national champion LSU. Both were close games. Back then, there were only 4 major bowls, and it was really difficult to make one if you didn't win your conference as there were 6 AQ conferences, not 5 like there are now, leaving just two at-large spots

If you just want to troll Erik Ainge then sure that was his biggest accomplishment. A game MVP award is Bennett's biggest accomplishment too if we want to ignore everything else.

Do you have no perspective on how few college players "achieve anything" based on your criteria?

Maybe look at who were All-SEC QBs his junior and senior seasons. Jamarcus Russell (#1 overall draft pick), Chris Leak (5* recruit), Tim Tebow (5* recruit and Heisman Trophy winner), and Andre Woodson (4*, #7 overall QB recruit)

That doesn't excuse his petty comments about Bennett for no reason, but you're projecting Ainge as being some scrub college QB when he wasn't.

Par for the course. He is a pillbilly. Must not have had his cocktail of oxy, percocets, and Xanax this morning.
