Elite Coaches do not go 5-6!

I do not care whether you're starting QB went down or not. You have more than enough talent on that roster to get at least 7 wins. Look at all the elite coaches today. Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Peterson, Swinney have always won more than seven games in the middle of their tenure. 75 Million well spent A&M.

Lol I thought that
Aggie baws are convincing me with $2M coordinators and Shadow staff bigger than MC Hammers Entourage

I think we’re all in agreement that they grossly overpaid.

THIS
Aggies love buying the top and overpaying for mediocrity.

Saban at MSU:
6-5-1
6-6
7-5
6-6
Harbaugh at Stanford:
4–8
5–7
Dabo also had a 6-7 year.
Not really sure I'd call Harbaugh elite though.

Dabo Swinney went 6-7 in 2010. He is an elite coach, as much as it pains me to say it.

This was in the beginning of his tenure. When Saban was at MSU he was nowhere near considered elite.

doesn't really belong in a thread about Elite coaches.

So he learned how to be an elite coach?
When did that transformation take place?

After he won a couple of conference tiles and national title he was considered elite. None of these coaches had a horrible 5-6 or 6-6 season after they won a conference or national title.

So how do you know Jimbo isn't at the beginning of his run instead of the end?
I'm not an A&M fan or defender by any stretch of the imagination but great coaches do have bad years. It's a thing. Tom Osborne is the only one I can think of to not have a real downer year.

Were any of them eight years into their program build?

Down years yes, but not horrible years. 5-7 at a school like FSU is a horrible year. Ed Orgeron at LSU just won 9 games with an average qb.

Or lose to Louisville in their 7th season 63-20

Bear Bryant was 12 years in when he had a .500 year. Bo Schembechler was 15 years in when he had his. Wood Hayes also had a losing season 15 years in.
FSU is on the verge of a .500 campaign and is an inferior program to those.
