Make a decision, realize later it's the wrong decision, and quit instead of sticking it out.

I'm with LSU fans, good riddance to a kid that isn't willing suffer through more losing seasons. Kids aren't as tough as they used to be.

I'm sure you feel the same way about a regular student who chooses to transfer or someone who chooses to leave a job that isn't a good fit.

It is interesting the DBU is becoming unfit for 5 star DBs

What about it wasn’t a good fit? He was a starter. All american. All sec player. Who is a projected 1st round pick in the 2023 draft. They’ve developed him well and he’s being coached by the best DB coach in America in Raymond.

And he's in the transfer portal....

I just hope he transfers to A&M. "Today's youth" is a BS argument. The new world of NIL and 5 Stars that are positioning for NFL Draft status where there are millions of dollars on the line makes this all a business. That goes the same for LSU, A&M, Bama, or whomever.

Ricks is a good kid, but felt too entitled to be at a place like LSU

Yea that’s my point. So the comment of “the wrong fit” made no sense it was a great fit for him and made him a lot of future money and accolades

Did your coach do the same thing when he left FSU while he had a contract?

I would agree, the instant transfer rule isn't a good thing.

Now, for years, coaches could switch jobs tomorrow with no thought to the school, but players couldn't, but there should be some rules in place.

He left for a better situation. I guess Ricks is doing the same thing

Why exactly would he do that?

Can you honestly say that the new coaching staff scheme will fit his style of play?

Likely he would be playing for his 3rd Defensive Coordinator in 3 years if he stayed. LSU will suck next year also, why would you want waste your last year in that shite show in Red Stick?

Good for him for having two eyeballs and realizing what a shite situation it had become and capitalizing on the rules put in place to allow him to find a better place to play.

Scholarships are year to year. He doesn't have a contract with LSU. Quit your sniveling.

Kids are only entitled to that scholarship one year at a time. They can get dropped at the end of any academic year. And often do.

Or do we still like the idea of indentured servitude ?

Why is a 5 star DB leaving LSU?
