I know you cant put your life on hold after a traumatic event, but think about it:
You and your bud, both very young, go and KILL another man (in self defense). Totally end another person’s life. He could have been a scumbag, but now he is dead. Permanently. Shot within inches of you inside a car. Doesn’t that affect you even a little?
It blows me away that not even a week later, these children are prepping to play a bowl game.
I guess, i would need a little more time to reflect on the prior events before going out ballin’ with my teammates in Phoenix.
But that’s just me.

If the guy has a weapon and is trying to rob me...I honestly don't think it would bother me. Should it? maybe. I think I should be bothered by that, but I'm not sure I would be.

Guess, I would hope for less of the former just because taking lives shouldn’t be on the same level as eating Snickers bars.
Coach O should also reflect on his active roster choices too IMO

Some people grieve for weeks when they lose a loved one. Some dont miss a beat from their normal routing. Doesnt mean one was actually sadder or more hurt than the other

I don't know if I would have done anything differently other than going on Craigslist and being somewhere I shouldn't have been.

-Clyde’s dad is a cop
-Jared Small is a walk-on that doesn’t play
-Clyde was in the right and has received counseling this week

Everyone reacts different to traumatic things.
There are cops who cant do their job anymore after they have to kill someone. There are other cops who could go back on the job the next day if they were allowed.
Being that CEH's dad is a cop, I'm sure he's kind of heard about this and how to deal with before.

I accidentally killed a 17 year old girl 25 years ago.
She ran across the street in front of my car. I stopped as soon as I could and then started CPR on her until the paramedics showed up.
Even though it wasn't my fault and there was nothing I could have done about it, it greatly affected me for a long time afterwards.

Everyone processes events differently. I know a guy that killed someone who committing an armed home invasion with him and his then-pregnant wife in the house. He acts the same and has never expressed (at least in public) one second of regret.

That is terrible, it would bother me for the rest of my life too.
It also isn't what happened to these two young men. There is a vast gulf of difference in being involved in a tragic accident and defending yourself against an armed robber.

No but I didn't drive for a few weeks after it happened.
I had 3 young children and the thought of losing them that way added to it.

I realize that. I was just pointing out that taking someones life regardless of how or why affects you.

People just cope in different ways. For many men, it means getting back to their routine ASAP. For others it may be to take time off to process things.
