ATLANTA -- LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Monday that he erred in hiring Matt Canada as offensive coordinator following the 2016 season, saying that current coordinator Steve Ensminger was the right choice all along.

quote:

"It's tough when you make a mistake, but it's even tougher not to admit you made a mistake and it's just not a good fit. I had to do the best what I thought for the LSU program, and that's why I did it."

Orgeron also admitted to blatantly lying to the media's last fall:

quote:

LSU struggled to a 3-2 start, including a home loss to Troy, after which Orgeron stepped in to "simplify" the shifts Canada often uses with his scheme.

"This is Matt's offense," Orgeron said Oct. 2. "He runs it. He calls it. He scripts the plays. This is his offense."

Auburn blew a 20 point lead to an OC that Ed Orgeron fired later that same year.

Then, in that same year, Auburn gave Gus a raise.

Thank goodness Ed stepped in and made sure we didn't lose to Troy. That would have been some shite. Hell I think it was home coming too. Nipped that problem in the bud.

more like Orgeron couldn't wrap his head around the offense.

Member last year when it didn't matter that Ed Orgeron was the HC because Matt Canada is the best OC in the country and Ed Orgeron was going to let his coordinators have full run of their side of the ball?

Remember when Auburn had to give Gus a raise, after blowing a 20 point lead to an OC that got fired the same year, just so he wouldn't leave...for Arkansas?

Malzahn got that knee jerk raise after beating Georgia and Alabama.

Before the Georgia game I couldn't find one single aubie that thought he would be back in 2018. Not one.

The Lsu game doesn't matter. Clemson didn't matter. Its what u do in those rivalry games.

Member when LSU beating Auburn was all for nothing because we still won the West anyway? LSU is officially so far beneath Auburn that the game with y'all is now meaningless

Hmmm. I can’t quite put my finger on why this sounds familiar...

Canada's gimmicky offense sucked in the SEC. That shite only works in a weak conference.
