It depends how you break it down.

Regular season records in head to head games (East vs West) has been won by the East the last two years.

But if you ask which division has a tougher top half it’d be the west in that time frame.

This year, the East top 3 would maybe edge out the West too 3. Come on, though. 4 East teams are winless. Every team in the West has at least 1 win.

The West is currently 5-3 v. the East

West wins:

Alabama over Mizzou
Auburn over Kentucky
Ole Miss over Kentucky
LSU over Vanderbilt
aTm over Vanderbilt

East wins:
UGA over Auburn
UGA over Arkansas
Florida over Ole Miss

Rings man rings. When a team from the East has a ring they can come shite on the west. Until then we have 3 teams who have won a ring this decade. It’s not even an argument

I’m with you here. You want to see how bad a couple teams are and remember Saban doesn’t lose to assistants and UofSC/Vandy/Mizzou/Kentucky just ain’t worth a damn.

Zero proof of that at the moment. Georgia beats Auburn every year.

Except Georgia winning a national title. That has never been cyclical.

Might be right. After 2 weeks there are three east undefeated and one in the west. This either means that the east has better teams, or the west is beating each other up. Also worthy to note that the worst in the east is Vanderbilt and they have 2 losses vs the west. I look for this number to even up as the season goes along. In conclusion, the east appears at the moment to have more good teams, but the sample size is still too small to make an accurate reading. And the west's lead right now is almost meaningless in this conversation.

And the East has wins over Ole Miss and Arkansas, both new coaches.
And then the hapless Gus Bus.
