The errors would concern me, but the batting average ranked in the 100's would have me paranoid about getting shut complety down next week if I am Van Horn.

Pitching is too damn good, they never get hits in practice so the fielders don't get a chance to field balls and they're rusty.

Some team that happens to lead the nation in ERA likes giving up free runs as is evidenced by the fact that their total runs given up is a good bit higher than their earned runs.

Luckily ERA only considers earned runs. Take up your quandary with statisticians.

I have no issue with ERA. The statisticians can win the battle.
Just pointing out that it is foolish to consider ONLY ERA when looking at a team. It is still a good stat and an impressive display by the pitching staff at said school. But when it comes to analyzing a team, other stats must be taken into consideration to get the best picture.

Okay, well at no point did I ever say this team is better than this other one based on ERA. I just made this thread to look at ERA. Several SEC teams happen to have really good ones.
