Really figured Clemson would be favored by 3-4 points.

All the advanced metrics basically show it as a low scoring toss up.

Whoever wins on 3rd down will win the game, barring a turnover fest.

I don't think clemson has ever been favored in a playoff game

Probably banking on Bama’s defense being 100% vs Kelly Bryant who struggled against Auburn’s defense.

Obviously Vegas is trying to solicit bets as always.

I’m really excited for both matchups too. Georgia OU is hella intriguing.

Bettors have shown they will overvalue Bama for several years now. I said this before the iron bowl as well.

I personally think if the linemakers were trying to predict the outcome with their line, it would be Clemson by 3 or 4. However they aren't trying to predict the outcome of the game, just how bettors will bet.

I tend believe by all the matchups will be good games. I think all 4 have a legit shot.

more intriguing imo. Our O-line struggles against good d-lines, FSU, LSU, Auburn for example.

And Clemson may have the best we've seen.

Yea, both should be fun.

Oklahoma-Georgia is going to be awesome.

Maybe the "experts" see something I don't but to me that is a suckers line to induce bets on Bama. Bama will not be able to run against that Clemson front 7 and I don't think Hurts will be able to make the difference much like he wasn't able to vs Auburn. In fact I expect a very similar game with Clemson controlling the game in the trenches. But apparently someone feels that Hurts' dual-threat capability will be the difference.

Bama went 5-7 ATS this season, FWIW.

I don't think that is a given

Alabama ran for 211 yards and 5.6 YPC against Auburn. Auburn ran for 168 yards and 3.4 YPC against Alabama.

Auburn dominated Alabama in the trenches when Alabama got forced into clear passing downs. If that happens against Clemson, they will do the same. But we ran on Auburn when we chose to try to do it and I think we can do the same to Clemson.

Will be the matchup of the game.

Look for a repeat of the Auburn game for both teams. Clemson is better than AU stopping the run and unless Hurts can throw better it could be a beat down worse than the IB.

This is easily the best D Bama will see all season, their front 4 are all going pro. The game will come down to the same thing it came down to last year, JHs inability to throw the ball down the field, esp being harassed all game. Bama isn't good enough to beat Clemson with one dimension on offense.

I think Clemson wins by 10 and then handles UGA in the final by around the same margin. I'm pulling for the SEC but I don't see it this year.

Yeah I was expecting Clemson to be slightly favored myself but we won't know what the smart money gamblers think until just before the game.
