Jesus. I assumed this would be a UT-shite talking thread but I didn't expect so many schools to be behind them. I guess AU and A&M have good shots though to leap ahead.

Just to provide an update: The OP stands as is. AU on deck.

My apologies to the fine folks in Oxford.

Why you just make stuff up? We eliminated Texas Tech and TCU from the 2014 CWS…

2001 was also the last season the Vols finished in the top 10 in football (still ended up in the Citrus Bowl).

Ole Miss finished 3rd in 2014. Had a good run.

Who beat them in the SEC Championship game that year. Does anybody remember?

Indeed. We went to 3 straight finals and haven’t been back since.
I grew up with it being a guarantee that we easily make the tourney every year at a minimum.
Shocking how far we’ve fallen.

Kinda like a football team that makes a lot of bowls but loses most of the bigger ones, or a basketball team that gets into the tourney a lot, but never makes it past the first weekend.

Damn, LSU Has won 6 nattys, SC 2, UF 1, Vandy 3. That’s a lot of nattys since tennerseeds last won a game in Omaha. Forgot MSU won a natty too

Vandy has 2. But they do have 2 CWS runner ups in that time. As do we and UF I think.
