God, how fricking dumb can you be?!
Probably smarter than you numbnuts. And this tangent was all because your dumbass was trying to act like Jelks was never paid which is laughable.
If you are going to be a trial attorney, I will go ahead and say now, I think you will suck since you appear too stupid to know when to pick your battles.
Here is a hint, claiming Jelks was not paid by Bama or implying it is a losing battle retard.

I'm sure. Your conspiracy theories speak to an incredibly high intelligence.

Of course he was. He said it, then no he didn't, then, well he was paid, by auburn to tell the truth, then, oh frick it. GEAT EXAMPLE. A true testament to your conspiracy laden mind.

Of course you think I will suck. But then again, you also think its a good idea to use the word of a guy who admitted he lied, and who told "the truth" only after having been paid to do so in the first place by an auburn booster. By the way, witness credibility is a big thing in trial law. By your logic, however, it probably means shite. You'd accept a black and photo of the Lochness monster as proof of its existence if you believed it in the first place.

Here is another hint. Basing your pathetic theories on the word of a man who later denies them and only who told them in the first place after having been paid to do so by a an Auburn booster speaks to the level of obsession your tinfoil covered mind has. Good lord, how pathetic can you be? BTW, how was the CIA involved in Kennedy's death and in what capacity is the US government cooperating with and or selling out to the aliens that landed in Roswell?

Obviously the NCAA investigated his loans and decided they were a major violation.
They also reduced our penalties under appeal, something they rarely do. The ncaa is not a court, and evidence is not weighed as stringently.

As I recall, the other stuff fell outside the NCAA's self-imposed statute of limitations.
The evidence is pretty conclusive that Jelks was illegally compensated for signing with, and later playing for, the University of Alabama, regardless of what he said to the Birmingham News after the fact.
Not really.
It was also 25+ years ago, so it's not really that big of a deal now.

The most interesting statement in this entire thread is the one that no one else seems to have commented on, and is stunning if true:
It was pretty interesting, but I'm reserving judgement. Not to knock on Pat Dye, cause he was a superb coach, but he is getting up there in years, and he has had alot to drink since he retired. I'm thanking that statement might have been made either for entertainment purposes, or perhaps as buletin board material for auburn. Of course he could have been serious, but Dye is a very politcal oriented persnality (again, not a knock), and I take everything he says with a grain of salt, cause he's a wily old bastard.

Finebaum is a tool who I would like to slap like a little girl in the face. Not punch, but slap repeatedly to watch him cry and piss his pants.

What you have to understand about Finebaum is that he is ALL about ratings and nothing else.
He says certain people (Tubberville, etc.) were his friends but he will throw them under the bus without a moments hesitation if it gets him ratings.
He wants controversy. He will even start crap with an upright guy like Gene Stallings if it will get him ratings.
He is your typical 'victim' mentally disturbed individual. Meaning, they are never wrong and any argument to the contrary toward them is considered abhorrent.
He is a total phony as a 'friend.' He is only about himself and his show and his ratings.
This sort of mentally challenged individual is so narcissistic that he is incapable of seeing where he might be in error.
I may be wrong if the case is that the other participants are in on the 'joke.' Like an Andy Kaufman deal but I doubt someone like a Gene Stallings would participate in a situation like that.
Finebaum's personality, if you've listened for any lengthy period, is all about self promotion.
There is nothing wrong with that if you are a broadcasting personality but the problem with Paul is that he establishes relationships with other personalities and THEY buy into the fact that Paul is supposedly a powerful broadcaster and they are intimidated by him.
Fact is........Paul is not that influential even though his promos claim he is top 12 in the SEC, etc, etc.
He's had publications and meaningless local awards that really are nothing and guests for some reason believe he is a big deal.
He isn't. I'm in SEC territory and when asking several people about his show........if they know him they hate him....(except Alabama fans) OR they don't who he is at all! Most don't even know who he is.
I asked several SEC folks about three years ago if they even knew who he was. I asked because I started listening several years back and listened to the hype of his promos. Like I said, most never heard of him unless they were Bama or Auburn fans. Some Tennessee fans seemed to know who he was and the VERY FEW from other SEC schools that knew who he was......hated him.
They hated him because he played right into their hands. But the problem with Paul is that most don't care.
He's duped his guests into sweating him and believing he is powerful, when he isn't.
Personally I find Paul somewhat entertaining and I actually enjoy listening to him and have some of his podcasts on my iPod. But to consider him powerful or even consider him to be relevant is absurd.
I actually get a kick out of listening to most of his 'guests' sucking up to him. It's a dynamic I can't completely grasp but I find it fascinating.
Finebaum in reality is a joke but most listeners believe the hype and the guests think he is this powerful radio personality when in reality he really is not that big a deal at all.

Best response regarding Finebaum I've ever heard.
