Driving thru LA this weekend made me extra thankful

To be from a civilized and developed state
Miles and miles of some bridge over a swamp nobody can pronounce. Little or no shoulder the entire way (very smart engineering cajuns)
Baton Rouge looks like a bomb went off. Traffic for years every nook and cranny covered in billboards. Saw 63 of Morris Bart with his cajun grin in red stick alone
Moving to NOLA what a cesspool. People lying in the street passed out on drugs. Drunks just stepping over them. Trash piled up everywhere because Nola residents are too lazy or high on drugs to move it. Houses in the surrounding miles look like Yemen
Mississippi and Alabama looked like an oasis compared to Louisiana

Oh very doubtful. With the drug and drinking culture of that state I saw very few residents over 6ft

I guess it depends on your perspective and what you enjoy but the LA swamps and marshes are abundant with resources and wildlife and offer some amazing scenery as well. Now you won’t find a large population of yell leaders or male cheerleaders if that’s what you are looking for. I will agree with you that the BR traffic is horrible and Nola is a shite hole but you shouldn’t base your opinion of LA solely on those two places, I’ve driven through some pretty terrible places in TX also
