He had newborn baby he wanted to protect especially not knowing at the time all the details of Covid. NFL had a deadline also.

Oh, so valid reasons not to play. On this board that doesn't matter.

Guessing this is related to Chase. Dude quit plan and simple, I would say same thing if it was Smitty.

I wish he would have played. But the guy chose to opt out of this year to protect his clear position as a top 10 pick. He didn't stay on scholarship and not play. And it's not like all the questions surrounding Covid were baseless. No one knew how this season would go. He brought a Bilitnikoff Award and was an integral part of a National Championship. I'd say LSU and it's fan base got a nice return on his 3 year scholarship. But if it makes you moron, likely minimum wage earning posters feel better calling him a quitter, go.for it. Look for him in a few months to be signing a multi-million dollar contract after being a top 10 pick in the NFL draft.

The Pat's could have used Dont'a at QB this year.

Dude has 9 years in the league, three Super Bowl rings and two Pro Bowls. He has balled out for 13 years at a high level (including coming back from an ACL tear to lead possibly the greatest Bama defense of all time in 2011). I’ll give him a pass.

There is nothing wrong with doing what you think is the right thing for your family. What others think is irrelevant.

The Pats won 7 games without an OL or any threats at RB and WRs. Their D was the worst in the BB era. QB was the least of their worries.
