or does OSU need to blow OU out of the water to jump bama?

I get the feeling that just winning an extra game will jump bama.

It's not an extra game. The Big XII doesn't have a championship game anymore, so OSU would have the same number of wins as Bama. Since OSU would probably be ahead of Bama in the computers, it will all come down to what the voters want. I think OSU has to blow out OU just to have a chance to sway enough voters to jump them over Bama.

If OSU and/or VTech wins (assuming LSU wins also), Saturday night will be very interesting. Lot's of people will be campaigning to get their team in.

There will be enough anti sec voters to vote them in.

Will come down to the wire though.

IDGAF anymore... after seeing Bama's games since the SECW championship game I'm not very fearful.

I think a VA Tech win will help Bama b/c it will split the votes. OSU needs to pick up a lot of second place votes, but they also need to be #3 on the ballots that have other teams ahead of them.

Seeing the large gap they have, I think its a done deal of who will be playing in New Orleans.

This is true and the stanford win helped alot as well OSU is sittingat 5th in the humans right now.

If I was a bama fan I would feel alot more comfortable to play another game than too sit at home and have to rely on voters and OSU/VT

It could be close if OSU wins, regardless of how they win. From week 13 to 14 this is how each team changed:

Bama:
Overall BCS: +0.0060
Harris: -0.0007
Coaches: -0.0014
Computers: + 0.020

OSU:
Overall BCS: +0.0304
Harris: +0.0512
Coaches: +0.0604
Computers: -0.020

Bama wins big against Auburn and loses points in the Harris and Coaches and gains computer (mainly because OSU did not play).

OSU sits at home and gains in Harris and Coaches (mainly due to Arkansas losing) and loses points in only the computer polls (due to not playing).

If OSU wins, they will grab back most of the #2 computer polls from Bama. I would expect them to get at least 5 of the 6, which would be enough to go to 0.960 and drop Bama's computer score to 0.920.

Then, it will be up to the voters. I don't think it will have anything to do with the margin of victory OSU has against OU. It will all depend on whether the voters want an All-SEC BCSNG that's a rematch or if they want to give another conference champion a chance.

It is a coin flip.

I agree that you need a Clemson win which will take away votes from Virginia Tech and you also need a BIG and I mean VERY BIG Okie State Victory... They will also bring up the plane crash as to why OSU...

Having said that, you are looking at LSU and Bama in a rematch and I would take Bama in that game... Sorry LSU fans, it is hard to beat an evenly matched team twice (same as flipping a coin), it happens, but Bama will have an edge.

I understood that if they win because of the computer love that OSU will just need about 25% of the voters to put them ahead of bama.

Looks like Oklahoma State's 2 bye weeks really helped them out this year... it will be interesting to see if voters will change their mind after next weekend's game w/ OU (assuming they win).

I don't even think a huge win vs. Oklahoma gets them in.

wild card is the pure hate from non-SEC region voters. IF VT and Oky St. win, i wouldnt be surprised if some tried to manipulate the final result by placing LSU 1, OSU 2, VT 3, Bama 4 just to stave off a SEC vs SEC rematch

BCS is supposed to be the best two teams playing each other, and IMO, from body of work LSU/Bama are the best two
