Does LSU still get in the playoff with a loss Saturday?

A few weeks ago I thought LSU was pretty much guaranteed a spot in the playoff as long as they finished the regular season undefeated. I'm not so sure that's the case anymore.

If Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Utah all win on Saturday does a non-SEC champion LSU team still get in the playoff in your opinion?

Not sure, what spot do you see bama at, 3 or 4? What a 3 week melt, cheer up spike, next season is right around the corner.

This is a bad time of year and a tight field so anyone hoping to make the playoffs better not lose. Do that and you lose control of everything.

Winning takes opinions out of it. IMHO the playoffs have started for us. Win and advance.

If we lose, I’ll be back to argue why we should be in anyway. Until that happens, I’ll just enjoy the ride.

LSU and Ohio State are in regardless of what happens this weekend.

Very well said. I think you nailed it and have the same attitude I would have if Alabama was in the exact same position going into the SEC championship as LSU is this year.

Take a win or go home approach (which had worked well for your team this year btw) in every big game and leave nothing to chance. FTR, I think LSU clearly deserves to get into the playoff over either Baylor or Utah even with a loss to Georgia Saturday. Too strong of a resume especially compared to the resumes of both those teams. They can make almost as strong of an argument to get in over Oklahoma for the same reasons but I think they're the team you guys have to worry about most if for some reason y'all don't quite get it done this Saturday.

Having said all that, a loss Saturday would make me nervous as an LSU fan especially if all the other favorites hold serve and win. I'd feel good if I was an LSU fan if it came down to LSU and Baylor or Utah for the last spot. Oklahoma winning and looking good is the biggest threat in that scenario. LSU would still have a better resume but OU has the name recognition and feel good story with Jalen Hurts that would make you guys have to sweat it out on selection Sunday.

I'll admit that I wouldn't mind seeing you guys get in the playoff even if you lose this Saturday just to see the mental gymnastics some of your fellow Tiger fans will use in explaining how it was completely justified this year as opposed to either 2011 or 2017 for Alabama...lol

Everyone else will shite on your thread but I will provide you my thoughts

If LSU is ranked 2 or 3 this week and lose to Georgia then no playoffs

So, if they both lose, then the Playoffs will simply be a repeat of the SEC and Big Ten championship games? And Clemson will get left out?

Or do you see either of them losing and still going in over the team that beat them?

If they both lose its

1. Clemson
2. UGA
3. OSU
4. LSU

That would certainly suck for LSU. Going undefeated all season long and then lose two in a row.
