We had one healthy one all spring. If healthy, I think we'll be okay.

another poster said 3 were out due to injury, which is crazy bad luck, and you say there was only one healthy rb. So you guys have only 4 running backs on the depth chart?

2 scholarship RBs were out, Emery and Bradford.

TDP played and was the lone scholarship RB available. We have 2 more running backs coming in this summer, Goodwin and Kiner.

We will have 5 scholarship RBs

If you watched the game. The broadcasters said 20 times that we only have 1 healthy RB

I didn't watch the game but I did read about it and was judging by the lack of rushing stats and so many passes

Right now yeah. Emery and Bradford I know are hurt, and I guess Josh Williams is hurt too, so we only had Price healthy in the spring. We do get Kiner and Goodwin in the summer though so that's a big help.

We will have 4 high 4 star-backs, 1-5 star on the roster, Price has plenty of experience and production And then Emery , Kiner, Goodwin etc. I expect a significant upgrade over last year, we just have to let these guys get healthy.

LSU had four for spring, but three got injured, including John Emery Jr. We also have two incoming freshmen not on campus yet. Will have six scholarship backs this season, with Tyrion Davis-Price and John Emery being “either/or” starters. Same situation as last year, only deeper.

Josh Williams is a former walk-on who got a scholarship last year because the opt outs freed up some spots. Counting him, we will have six scholarship backs this year.

Funny on how you can appear to have 5 running backs on the chart, but so few are available.

But next year our end depth chart cou of loo lie this.

John Emery 5-11 210 sr
Tyrion Davis 6-1 235 sr
Kevontre Bradford 5-11 195 jr
Armoni Goodwin 5-8 195 so
Corey Kiner 5-10 215 so
Leveon Moss 5-10 205 fr
Trevontre Citizen 6-1 225 fr

And personally I think 7 is too many. But tdp or emery could leave early.

It's a bit of both

As has been stated over and over in this thread, only 1 healthy RB available for the spring game.

But, as you might have been hinting at, this isn't going to be a big run-oriented scheme. Base package appears to be the shotgun, runs will be the 'necessary evil' to keep the defense honest. It still might be 15-20 carries a game for a guy, but only if the defense sits in the nickel all day; and any decent scholarship back can fill that role.
If it were still Les Ball, you better believe we'd have had 3+ backs available, pounding away. In this scheme backs are a secondary option, so it didn't hurt for guys to sit out and get healthy.

Biggest questions going in were which QB to go with, and which WR emerges as #2. So it makes sense that we went pass heavy.
