Some troll rivals might be pretending to think so, but last year’s egg laying vs LSU should give you lots of pause
Flarda 31
Miami 13
News out this morning that Miami is starting a freshman at QB

I don’t think they have a chance but I would like to see Miami pull it off

Florida will beat them like a rented mule.

If Miami does win, the flame thrower will be lit and pointed by the Jean short, mullet heads directly at CDM.

Miami has won 7 of the last 8 against Florida, only losing to our 2008 National Championship team in the Swamp, and we had a tough time pulling away from UM in that game. Miami was 7-6 that year. This is going to be a close game. Anyone who thinks Florida wins in a cakewalk doesn't know the history as well as they should. Miami doesn't care about LSU or most teams in the ACC. They would kill to beat Florida. A win here will make their season.

Isn’t UF only -6.5?

What could be better than having
Miami
Texas
USCw
Sucking for so long?

No. Miami doesn’t have a great roster, and first year under a new coach.
Should be a two or three TD win for the Gators.

I think Miami will cover the spread (+7), and could see them winning outright.

No. It’ll be a quasi home game and UF is the better team

Nah. LSU couldn't even beat Florida.

Dan has been known to drop an obvious win here and there.
Hard maybe.

Not with the U QB situation unsettled.
Fla should win but will likely be closer than expected as Fla has some depth issues in crucial positions.

No, but it would be hilarious

I would go from a believer to being completely against Dan.
No way should we drop this game with the stakes being played.
Best school in Florida.
Opening week.
No other games televised.
If he doesn't win this game, even with bad luck, then he's simply not the guy to ever get it done at Florida.

Why would the history of this game have any impact on it?
Not a single player is on the field from those games.
Most of the coaches are different, and the coaches that have been involved in this game won it for Florida.
Motivation is great, but it's only a first quarter emotion. Once that dies it's about the better team, and who makes less mistakes.
They have.
No QB- May be running 3 different ones
A make shift Oline - Only 2 players who started any games return, and their Oline was awful last year. They are relying on transfers. Oline that make shift with only a few weeks to really gel vs our front seven..will be tough
Lost very impactful players on their Dline
Lost their best 1 WR, have a great slot receiver but they are lacking when compared to our starting DB group.
New scheme, new staff, a lot of issues to fix.
Florida has issues too of course, but a lot less. We have experience at every level but Oline, but that Oline is not full of first year transfers and has played together for awhile which should make it somewhat easier.
History means nothing in this game to anyone but the fans. YOU feel uncomfortable because of the history. That doesn't mean the players will automatically play worse, nor that Miami will magically fix their very long list of issues they have to fix in a few weeks time.
Florida has a better special teams group, a better offense, a more experienced staff, and our defense is pretty strong as well(theirs ranks a little higher, but also played crappy offenses all year).

Vegas follows the money, not so much an accurate predictor on who is going to win. It's all about play.
