Would the ball travel further off a wooden bat than these dead aluminum bats?

If I am not mistaken, the BBCOR bats respond exactly as a wooden bat would. I just looked at the LSU games box scores. Their 3,4,5 and 6 hitters were combined 3 for 29. I know Rhymes himself was the 3rd out 4 times leaving at least 8 runners stranded in the UNC game. That's not all bad bats, bad balls and large field. That's a slump at the worst imaginable time.

You people are so biased and delusional. If your team wasnt at home you sure as hell wouldn't be saying this. The fact that you are are trying to belittle MSU's success is beyond immature it's almost worthy of laughter. Don't be a sore loser pussy.

When was the last time you heard people talk about fastballs up in the zone down the middle being an effective pitching technique?

This is how I know you know nothing about baseball. These pitchers are good. Rodon, the kid form UCLA, and other starters have above average fastballs and can be extremely effective up in the zone you dipshit. Gah the lack of baseball knowledge on this board is befuddling.

I'm talking about the OP and everyone who says this CWS has been boring. Are y'all freaking kidding me? This is great baseball! People can call it a down year all they want, but I know baseball and there are some seriously talented players in this tournament. Very, very good teams.

As far as balls flying out of the park like the 90's, baseball has changed at all levels. The long ball is still valued, but pitching has become significantly better at all levels. More emphasis is put on pitchers nowadays. Are you not watching these kids? 18 19 years old with absolutely filthy arms. It doesn't help the home run by playing at TD Ameritrade either. Power alleys are deep.

No it's not. It's boring. A great pitchers duel is one thing - but that isn't what we're seeing here. I can see how someone might be fooled into thinking that based on the scores, but it just isn't. And I thought the same thing when LSU was still in it.

It is stupid....nobody wants to talk about the fact that we swung and missed on Sunday at mostly letter to eye high pitches with an umpire that had a low strike zone. Nola wasn't getting some calls at the belt. Yet we aren't talking about the fact that we swung at mostly pitches that would have been called balls we are talking about the fact that TD Ameritrade is too big and the bats are too dead.
This isn't just about LSU dude. If you notice, fans of every team not named State agree with it. Even LSU fans agreed with it when we were still playing.

Seeing who can accumulate the most walks and fewest errors just isn't entertaining ball. These low scores aren't a product of great pitching.

Good pitching

That's the point. It's not good pitching when your strategy is to throw belt high fastballs because no one can hit it out. You don't think something is wrong when ZERO balls have EVER been hit out of this park in centerfield? Never, not one. Guess we're just seeing the best pitching ever the last 3 years.

Also, why do people go back to one game 15 years ago to plead their case as to why these bats are great?

no. I will now be rooting for the bulldogs

Although, i'm of the view the sec should have a one mascot rule.

UGA bulldogs trump MSU bulldogs
LSU tigers trump Missouri and Auburn

Therefore, MSU,Missouri and Auburn need new mascots.

Absolutely...mind numbing boring.

With all the LSU fans going ape shite over it, I figured I'd give it another chance. It's great to put on if you need to go to sleep.

College softball is more exciting.

Two complete games last night by the Indiana and OSU pitchers. Sixteen or so strikeouts between them. More and better pitchers are opting for college rather than going pro out of high school. College pitching has gotten much better. OSU pitcher faced 28 batters and the Indiana pitcher faced 31.

Uhh how about college football, college basketball, NFL, NBA, MLB, Hockey, EU soccer, college softball, Tennis(never have watched it, but it has to be).

All of those sports are 10x more exciting to watch than AAA rejects putting people to sleep.
