Alabama hasn't beaten anyone.

We'll get excited in 3 weeks.

We currently have the best QB the school has had in decades, if a fan isn't excited about that they aren't a fan.

I'd imagine it would get pretty dull after a spell. After being a spoiled and entitled fan for so many years I guess you became like a drone or a robot. You just sort of carry on with your marching orders like a cult. It's no different then the liberals.

Alabama had a great team last year and lost to Auburn.

2013 Alabama was ranked #1 all year and missed the NC because of the kick 6.

Alabama lost to Ole Miss 2 years in a row. One of those years they made the playoff only bc of 4 and 25.

2011 LSU came to town and beat Alabama 9-6.

2008 Alabama swept the season and Tebow got em.

Very next year Alabama swept again and made Tebow cry.

What is the frick is boring about any of this?

The answer is sadly yes to a degree, at least for me, most regular season wins simply do not register anymore. There's always one or two games a year that get unusually tense and when you win those you are excited, but when you know on paper you should easily crush about 9-10 of the 12 teams on your schedule, it's impossible to get fully jazzed up about those games and winning them feels hollow because you were 100% expected to by everybody, including yourself.

Makes Saban's ability to keep the team up for these games more amazing.

The post-season (SEC title games, playoff games, etc.) are still exciting though.

It's just human nature to get complacent and they say happiness is expectations minus reality. When your expectations are ridiculously high that sets you up to not enjoy much.

What's happening is amazing but since it's been happening going on 10 years now it doesn't register as amazing as it should.

Tua has definitely made this year stand out so far from the others though. If we can manage a 15-0 national championship season and a Heisman QB in the same year, would sort of be the crown jewel of the dynasty.

However that's a hell of a thing to expect.

That’s what I mean, nobody can challenge them. You know you’ll win going away. As an LSU fan, most games are a challenge, so it makes winning sweeter.

How can winning be boring?

Sure, a close game is more fun than beating teams by 40 pts but that's how you get to the POs. And POs and NC games are as exciting as it gets.

If you have 3 to 4 or more real close games every year you will lose a few and rarely make it to the POs. I'll take 10-11 boring games to get to the POs every year over a bunch of close games and almost make the POs like every other good team.

Does it get boring asking the same question a hundred times? I find that much more tedious than winning easily.

I watch until Tua gets pulled. And then some Jalen. But I aint seen a whole game yet this year. None of these teams is good enough to keep it interesting. The playoffs is my time. I might get to watch a whole game in January.

I probably watch less of bama than any team in the SEC. Most weeks I dont know who they are playing. I know they play LSU in 2-3 weeks and I know they play AU at the end of the year. Honestly, that is about it. Other than the iron bowl and playoffs, I didnt watch any bama games last year.

Their games are neither interesting or entertaining for non bama fans and probably very hard to get excited for even for bama fans with the exception of a couple of games a year. Even though AU sucks, I've had a lot of fun being excited for and watching 3 AU games this year with 2 more coming.

FIFY ... a little. Made it a bit more palatable at any rate.

Today must be Philosophical Bama-Auburn Day.

Bama fans took winning for granted when Bryant was there. Then got inconsistent results from everyone that followed besides Stallings and then crashed hard with Dubose and Shula. It’s taken a decade of historic dominance to get the taste out of our mouth so no, the easy victories are sweet.

The fun is in the winning. Alabama is at such a high level right now that Alabama fans expect to win.

Right now Alabama has some amazing streaks going on, and it is interesting to see how far these can go (some of them, consecutive wins against unranked teams, times in the playoffs (Alabama is 4 for 4), 5 out of the last 9 NC (hopefully it will be 6 out of 10 at the end of this year, how many NC can Coach Saban win before retiring, etc.)

We know that this will not continue forever, so we are enjoying the ride and see how many more NC trophies Alabama can add to the case.

Bama fans don’t care about winning. It’s how the team plays the game that counts.
