Colorado will not go back to the Big 12.
There has only been ONE instance in which a team left a conference then returned to that same conference and that was Temple, who was kicked out of the Big East then allowed to return.
No school that voluntarily left a conference has ever returned to that conference.
Ok lets see...
BIG 12: Hey Colorado want to rejoin the Big 12 and remain in a Power Conference with the money that comes with as we expand to 16 teams or look for a new home in a group of group of 5 or remain in what's left of the PAC and earn substantially less money?
Colorado: nah we good, its not about the money, we don't like Texas...
Yeah, right...

Good, time to disband and defund the NCAA.
The NCAA was created and run by the schools, not some bogeyman. If the P5 breaks away, they'll start a NCAA-like organization that will likely end up with something similar to what they have now.
But I'm a fan of chaos so I say go for it.

UConn just did it. They officially rejoined the Big East on July 1st.
Then they would be the first. They also cancelled their football program if I'm not mistaken.
Also, did UConn really leave the Big East or did the Big East leave them?
If I'm not mistaken, the catholic schools broke away and formed their own conference and the Big East rebranded themselves as the American Conference so that the new conference could take the name.

You're assuming that the four California schools would allow the PAC to fail. While the University of California system is batshit insane, Stanford and USC are not.

Who cares? This has nothing to do with CFB and who cares about "administrating" non revenue fall sports?
Sounds like a big pain in the arse not worth anyone's time.
Agreed. Also, a championship in all other sports wouldn’t be a real championship because resourced conferences don’t claim all titles.

You are aware of the fact that, across the entire spectrum of life, if you're staring at yourself in the mirror every morning and repeatedly insisting to yourself that, "it's everybody else who's the problem, everybody else who is in the wrong" that you can be certain it's a lie, right?
When that happens, especially when it happens serially like with you, you can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the delusional, dysfunctional narcissist is the man in the mirror who's denying it. You know that, right?
Also, unfortunately, I surmise a whisper's worth of mental retardation on your part, which means recovery is unlikely.
Congrats on the GT logo though
Given all that stuff you wrote above, no BS'n, no hemming and hawing,
answer this simple question:
Given the fact that the P5 Colleges gross $6 Billion Dollars each normal non CV19 year, do you think it is more fair to give the Revenue Producers larger Stipends or keep this system the way it is and hide behind BS like "shAmateurism" or purity of the Game, or the Coach's genius is what creates all that money..... yada yada yada
Maybe if you'd read thru some of these biased ridiculous ideas and replies then maybe you'd know that it is indeed them and not me
I think most here know that the Players deserve a lot more economically, not 50% like those Pac12 guys suggested, but they do deserve a lot more
Go watch the Movie, "12 Angry Men" and think of me as Henry Fonda, that's kinda the same dynamic around here, all these folks that are so passionate for the Players to not get larger Stipends have hidden agendas that they are too cowardly to say publicly, so they hide behind the usual hokum of Amateurism or Title-IX and any other weak excuse

Is the Big East one of the P5 conference?

No, they're just going independent.

UConn was a long-term member and had the choice to stay in the "new" Big East. They chose the AAC for football.

P5 needs to break away right now. What are they waiting for?

From what I recall:
Nebraska was courted by the B1G (An educational status symbol that has backfired).
Colorado was appealing to big leftists in California.
The SEC chose Mizzou.
Aggie was the only school butthurt enough about Texas to leave on those grounds.

Mizzou settled for the SEC. They wanted in the BIG and would jump at the chance if the opportunity ever arose.
The power 5 should just form their own league and institute a salary cap for incoming recruits. It would make the games more entertaining. If the talent were more evenly distributed ratings would go up.
Its a win for everyone. Players get paid and the under the table slimy dealings go away.
The top level teams only play about 4 or 5 games every year where the other teams even has the players to compete.
Half the season is boring and there are only 4 or 5 good weekends of football in its current form.

It's often better to go with the Devil you know than the one you don't. The p5 and fans may find that out the hard way. As soon as you tear down the old decrepit system a new one will take its place with most of the same problems and some you haven't anticipated. Right now, we know how to navigate that system and it has enough bad PR that it is cowed on most of the things the p5 wants. A new one wouldn't be nearly as toothless nor would it be corruption or bureaucracy free.
And something for the SEC to consider is this -- a TON of the extra football schools are located in the South. If we went to a p5 system we have fewer friends than a unified p5 that hates the success of the SEC.
