Do you think your team cares this year?

Honest question, not a troll or an excuse.

LSU got eviscerated on defense, and it just felt weird. They have the talent to do a lot better; and as I said in another thread, even a group of us posters here would have figured out to go to a basic zone to stop the bleeding.

It didn't seem like LSU cared about that. They have a new defensive scheme, and they want to install it. It's going to be man-coverage based. Going to zone doesn't help that, it only helps the game you're in that day.
It's like Orgeron and Pelini left them out there and said "get the reps, figure it out", like a scrimmage. And if you get embarrassed, good- more motivation to get better.

It's like, we could go 8-2 halfway changing, or or we could go 5-5 and get the defense ready for 2021. And with the year being so weird and out-of-kilter, maybe they just wrote 2020 off. Controlled scrimmages this year, don't lose any scholarship players, plan on being a beast when it get back to normal.

If an LSU athlete doesn't "care" then we have bigger problems than simply losing to State.

You can't turn "caring" on and off like a light switch.

All of your talented players are taking it serious. You are crazy if you think they are staying another year. It is NFL or bust for them.

LSU cared, they just lost a lot out of their secondary which is really unfortunate when your first game is against Leach's fireworks show.

I'm not sure. The team we played last week was terrible so I will have to see a few more games first.

The last time LSU won a game was before Covid-19.

We blame you quitters for this shite show.

I do, but they were very sloppy and careless with the football in the first week. Grateful for having a tune-up game week 1 instead of Bama or something.

Lsu tried everything on defense. Man, zone and combos. You guys just got out coached. Leach had our guys in the right spots and gassed your defense.
Maybe your team didn't care in the weight room but this was tactical destruction. I want Leach to be a General I'd we ever go full on world war. Tactical Genius

OP's saying your HC & DC didn't care though. I've never thought of CEO as a stubborn man, but if he an Pelini are ok with forcing a defensive scheme to the detriment of the W/L's then LSU is screwed.

Guess we can't expect State fans to act like they've been there before. They whipped us and deserved to win but damn you'd think they won the frickin Super Bowl.

It is true. Mostly heavy man but your coach threw the book at us. Sorry it didn't work out.

Season doesn’t count because my team didn’t “care”

I’m just gonna say Mizzou didn’t care from 1984-1996, and again from 1999-2002. None of those ugly losses count anymore

I remember when Arkansas fans used the same excuse when we blasted them 38-7 in the 2008 Cotton Bowl. They sure cared about knocking off a top 10 team before the game though...

Yeah, LSU fans wouldn’t be bumping State threads all week like they didn’t just win a National title last year at all.

ETA: LSU fans have never, and I mean never, acted like they’ve been there before.

Based on our week 1 performance I would say there is very little chance our team cares this year.
