Not sure about the premise of the OP - I can’t imagine SOS with any facial hair.
However, it gives me an opening to tell one of my most beloved anecdotes: for several years I worked with an elderly gentleman, now retired, who had been a broadcast engineer at WLAC-TV in Nashville, where the iconic variety series Hee Haw (of which Mr Campbell was a regular) was originally produced.
One day I asked him what he remembered most about making the show. He said his duties centered mostly on preparing the studio cameras so he didn’t have a lot of interaction with the cast and musical guests, although he got to see a lot of the performances from backstage.
He did say, however, there was one fringe benefit from working in the background. It appears that the engineering shop was directly across from the ladies’ dressing room, and that his tenure working on the show coincided with that of Barbi Benton - who apparently was very fond of walking around outside the dressing room completely nude between takes.

Walking about in the au naturel was nothing unusual for Miss Benton. She was actively part of Huge Hefner"s private "stash." Trying to work with the theme here.
