You are foolish. Sure, West Texas is part of the American South West, but basically everything east of I-35 is very southern.

From wiki:

Because of its size and unique history, particularly having once been Mexican territory, and later a nation in its own right (i.e. the Republic of Texas), Texas' modern-day relationship to the rest of the South is often a subject of debate and discussion. It has been described as "a Southern state, certainly, yet not completely in or of the South." The size and cultural distinctiveness of Texas prohibit easy categorization of the entire state into any recognized region. Geographic, economic and cultural diversity among regions of the state preclude treating Texas as a region in its own right. Notable extremes range from East Texas, which is often considered an extension of the Deep South, to Far West Texas, which is generally acknowledged to be part of the interior Southwest.

Again, subjective.

You obviously hate the rolex photo. Did you also hate his pics of visits to a children's hospital? Or giving other college players props?

Really, this says more about the ability of a kid you've never met to legitimately rustle your jimmies than it says about him being a douche.

Again, I'm saying this as a huge Tebow fan.

I don't follow Manziel. I don't search for his pics. I think all that stuff is creepy. I only see what's posted here.

Posing at a hospital, which many, many college athletes do, does not make up for any dooshy behavior.

Hey, I killed your dog but by they way, I also served soup at the homeless shelter...

I don't hate him, I don't hate many folks in like. I do think he's a turd though. I was thinking he would change but you guys say he's consistent and won't change for anything.

I get it, he is your doosh and defending him is to be expected from the homerific crowd. Just admit that if he playing for Texas you guys would be calling him all sorts of vile names.

How did this kid afford a $15k watch?

To be fair and completely objective, I can see how others would see JFF as "douchy" but I rarely meet an 18-21 year old that isn't douchy. They're all just like him.

JFF's antics are magnified because of who he is. Check out others in his same position that didn't win the Heisman. Nobody says shite because nobody gives a single frick about those other people/football players on his team and other teams across the nation. This leads me to conclude that if JFF is "unlikeable" in the eyes of other SEC fans it is merely a function of envy, rather than unusual behavior.

He probably paid for his watch the same way his sister paid for hers...

I admit it, and said admission supports my theory. The only reason fans of other programs think JFF appears like a douche is envy.

Uuum. No. It's not. I am practically in South Alabama chief.

Texas is Northern Mexico.

I don't even have a twitter I just see what's posted on TexAgs. Of course only the flame-worthy stuff makes its way here.

This is sour grapes--the first tweet of Manziel's that got any sort of traction outside the immediate fanbase was about him rescuing a stray cat from the middle of a busy street

Translation: you want him to be a figure that YOU are more comfortable with. That's fine, it is what it is.

Personally, no. Like I said, I've knighted for Tebow pretty consistently and also like RG3 (and baylor's no friend of A&M).

Sure the panhandle is southern. Probably the most traditionaly southern part. Areas of Jacksonville and north Florida are redneck, but that doesn't make up for the vast majority of your state which is either guidos, northern transplants, or Latinos.

Florida is a state located in the south. It is not a southern state. To say that it shares similar characteristics to AL, TN, etc is laughable.

How many Floridians consider themselves "southern"?

Eta: to say that OP can't relate to Texas because they aren't in the south is again laughable.

Double edit: BTW frick you for stealing our coastline. That whole panhandle should be Bama's

I think the case could be made for both. Florida is busting at the seams with yankees and illegal aliens (Cubans, Dominicans, Haitians, etc.)

Texas is starting to get is fair share of yankees, and is busting at the seams with illegals (Mexicans, El Salvadorians, Guatemalans, etc.)

ETA: Learn how to spell...

No, he has been unlikable for a while now. I truly liked the kid last year, but he didn't do it right after the success IMO. Hope he gets a crash course in humility this upcoming year.

Again, I understand your view. If he played for another team I would probably think he is a douche. I wouldn't give two shits about his "likeability" if he was just another run-of-the-mill player. There are plenty of 18-21 year-old douchebags out there. People give a shite about JFF because they envy him and wish he was on their team or had the same spotlight he has. It's really pretty simple.

I'm sure he is for lowering the drinking age and some liberal policies, but for the most part, people with money in Texas don't vote Democrat. And Johnny has got cash money.

I find you to be unusually reasonable for an aTm fan. You are not reasonable with this statement. I envy not, Manziel or aTm for having Manziel. Maybe it could be true for others but it's certainly not true for me.

I'm embarrassed enough of our own douches from time to time. No need to add another known one. Therefore, no envy here.
