I'm not blaming Les. LSU dropped some passes early on. He was trying to make something happen

Anyone who says no is in denial

Should've been 23 - 21 LSU wins if Les wasn't a total idiot and fakes a FG then a quick snap QB run (not even a sneak) on a 4th down that would've been a chipshot FG

You instruct your QB to walk up to the line, call a couple hikes then call a TO if no one jumps offsides and kick a damn FG

forgot about that one, yeah that 4th and 1 attempt was hard to swallow at the time. if he had kicked a fg instead of faking it earlier then this one was a no brainer. given the situation can understand the logic behind the call. HOWEVER, we have yet to find that meat hog that will always get us 1.5 yards on 4th and 1 like hester would. still, if he's smart enough to kick the fg when he faked it (and we make it) then I think he kicks a fg here instead of going for it..."if ifs and butts were candy and nuts" and all that bullshite.

The way LSUs kicking game was tonight i do not think it is a garuntee that there are 6 points on the board if he kicks the two field goals.

I may be in the minority, but I give some blame to Chavis.

Edit: but yes, there were some bad calls on offense/special teams

Usually when Les make weird, inexplicable calls it works out for LSU.

Tonight not so much…

So much for the idiot savant.

I agree with this. I think just looking at it technically you can question the calls, but when you put the situations of the game in perspective, I dont think you can find fault in him. Also, I dont think hes getting credit for the major improvement he made during the bye week. Ive never seen a team that improved that much in one week. Good game yall, and good luck the rest of the year.

Les went back to bring Les and almost pulled off a huge upset. Game plan was great, emptied his bag of tricks and probably should have won.

I think Les was playing as "nothing to lose". Yes, very questionable calls, but I'm glad they weren't ultra conservative tonight.

Seems like a lot of people on here think Les' and the coaches' decisions cost the players a win tonight. Is this the overall feeling for LSU fans?

Hell No. The FG attempts by Allemand hurt us, as in those are 6 points that would have won us the game. The Copeland PF hurt us, LSU would not have had to try that ridiculous Fake FG. The unlucky bounce on the onside was just that unlucky. Mile coached on hell of a fricking game. The fates were against us. Still UA I look forward to the tears of tide fans next year in BDS.

The retarded decision to go prevent is what cost LSU this game.

But Miles had a lot of stupid moments. You always take the points in a game like this, especially early on. Copeland's stupid penalty hurt a lot, but it was a makeable FG and instead we try a fake that had a 0% chance of working the moment Bama didn't line up to block it. Then he calls timeout on 3rd and 4 with 1:18 to go until half, with an offense that is struggling. This gives Bama time to get 7 before halftime.

I agreed with the onside kick and it was just a bad hop that screwed it up. I'm iffy on the Ware QB sneak attempt instead of FG. I don't mind going for it, the defense was on their heels. But don't fricking line up letting them know exactly what the play is. You can't do that against a defense like bama's.

Despite all of that though, that stupid fricking prevent...

Les took points off the board. There's no denying that. The FG attempt from 54 was pretty questionable and ended up giving Alabama great field position to start their TD drive to end the half.

He also called TO on the third down play with one minute left, no coach in America makes that call

THIS.

I've seen a pattern with LSU/Chavis... go prevent in the last part of the 4th, give up a TD in less than 1:30. It's a disturbing pattern.

Not an LSU fan, but there is no question his decisions are what prevented them from winning the game. They were all poor and cost them points and valuable field position.

A simple "oooooooh yeah" would have sufficed.

no.

It's the overall feeling of majority of the rant. I personally don't think the coaching cost us the game. We were 1/3 on FGs, and the strength of our team didn't stop Bama in the last 2 min. Sometimes you lose when you probably shouldn't, it's part of sports. I am proud of the players, I am proud of the coaches, I am proud of the program.

Tip of the hat to Bama to find a way on their last chance. SIck to my stomach about that loss, but I think we finally saw Mett live up to his potential.
