Do LSU fans miss DC John Chavis?

They blamed John Chavis, even though he constantly fielded a great defense at LSU. Then they blamed Kevin Steele, who has turned around Auburn’s defense and turned them into top 5 in the nation. And now the defense looks bad under Dave Aranda.
What gives?

LSU is actually void of talent now. Even local Br radio is saying it flat out. They don't have the players in the OL or DL to be competitive against teams that actually come prepared and don't overlook them. If you sleep on LSU they will and can beat you but the depth and talent at this point is not good in the trenches.

I'm not sure Chavis would fare any better with Coach O leading the way.
eta: oh frick it, LSU would be better off right now with Chavis as HC.

If Jeremy Pruit takes a HC job at the end of this season I would love Bama to make a run at Aranda. Based on what has been said about his work ethic and preparation he would fit right in at Alabama.

I am somewhat surprised Pruitt has not been offered one before now. Is there some issue with him that makes him not as desirable for a HC position?
He did great things at AL, then GA and now bama again.

The DL has been an absolute mess this year.
Lawrence, by far our best defensive lineman, has missed 3 entire games.
Herron, who had 43 tackles the last 2 years as a rotational guy, has missed the first 5 games.
Alexander, our ONLY other nose tackle, has missed the last 2.5 games.
Farrell, a freshman who has been put into the rotation quite a bit due to the above, missed the 2nd half of the MSU game and 1st half of the Syracuse game (targeting penalty).
Glen Logan has been starting at DE and he's MAYBE a step above awful. LaCouture and Gilmore are the other starting linemen and they are average players.
When you cant win the battles up front, it's going to be bad.
Aranda is a great DC and is having to work with some really tough situations so far this year. He's having to keep it pretty vanilla with some spots we're young at and not being able to run his system he wants to.

Do not know other than he has no experience. Honestly it is too easy to get a HC job now. Used to you had to be a coordinator then go to FCS and prove yourself and maybe then a lower tier FBS before you were offered a HC job at a major college but that doesn't seem to be the case. If Bama manages to somehow win one this year I expect him gone.

That can't be true. LSU fans told me recruiting would never be an issue there.

After punking out on Notre Dame preps, I lost my respect for the man. So, NO.

Well instead of holding a spot for a RB who was awesome they should have used that spot for better interior linemen. Troy ran right at them and just pounded it. The win wasn't even fluky. They just got beat. If I was an LSU fan I'd be pissed they didn't pay more attention to the lines. Bama takes OL every year and they're stacked up three deep with talent. Now w e are struggling on the DL recruiting and if not addressed this year they'll be looking at the same problem.

No, I don't miss Chavis. We're apparently still running his third down defense.

Les Miles is sleeping well these days

Put the crack pipe down, son. We'd be better off if the contest was eating and the place was a Golden Corral buffet. Then we'd be better off with Chavis.

Well for starters, under John Chavis LSU signed a whopping 3 defensive tackles in 2014 and none in 2015. Of those 2 never played.
So yes, we REALLY miss John Chavis.
