Theres always some on here who argue Auburn and Missouri (sometimes they say Vandy) should swap divisions.
Why should I want this?
And wouldn't this eliminate one of the two annual games: Iron bowl or TSIO with the current scheduling format.

And no, Divisional Balancing (aka "for the good of the conference") is not gonna sway me nor the SEC, not when the records have been close between the divisions as of late.

Doesn't really matter to Kentucky because UK gets Moo State every year. Vandy gets Ole Piss. Mizzou gets Arkansas. Those six schools have to be fine with status quo. Throw in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, and that bumps the number to nine. That's why this shift won't happen any time soon.

Oh I know, yet somehow there are those who think a shift should happen because "reasons". Not sure what those are exactly

Youre right, it doesn't. And having Auburn swap divisions is not suddenly going to change the East West power balance.
Last year East had a winning record over the West
This year iirc its tied at 7-7

Keep it the way it is.

If not, ditch aggy and mizz and let’s get back to having a better cross div rotation.

One reason could be geography. 7 teams on the East side would be in the East and 7 teams on the West side would be in the West. Not really important, just pointing it out.

I just want to see an end to this problem of going 7 years between meetings with certain teams. Swapping Auburn and Mizzou doesn't really fix that on it's own. It does get the Auburn/Florida game back annually tho.

I'm happy playing the east turds. Florida usually sucks. Georgia is having a rare resurgence. Mizzou will dominate again, soon.

No and that isn't the thought behind it either. I mean sure it makes perfect sense for the team 3rd furthest west to be in the eastern division. Why anyone would want that to change to make the conference make sense geographically is beyond me.

And yet by many peoples metrics Missouri isn't even Southern. Yet theyre in the conference. Geography doesn't seem to be a major deciding factor

It would also make the A&M/Mizzou game annual. It's strange that they don't play each year after coming over from the Big 12 together.

Actually it would get the Auburn/Florida, Auburn/Tennessee back and we would still play Georgia every year. Our permanent cross division would be Alabama. But they wouldn’t want to play us twice in a row. It would help Missouri with travel in all sports and let them develop a more natural rival with Arkansas, LSU, or Texas A&M.

I’m for getting rid of divisions anyway. Come up with a tiebreaker solution and just let the two top teams play for a Championship no matter where they are located in the SEC. The NCAA would have to change a rule but I they could do it.

Per Jimbo, divisions are going away. 3 permanent and 5 rotating.

Sauce? Would be much more open to that than just swapping a couple teams between divisions. Would allow for everyone to be played in the conference in 2 years instead of 7.

I don't think it's a good argument given we can't predict if the balance would be the same years from now. There are ebbs and flows with who is god and when. Much of the East's reputation has been due to historical power Tennessee being awful for the past 12 years or so.

Who stands to gain/lose the most if we do away with divisions?
