Did you know that on 11-21-11 #1, #2, and #3 in the polls were SEC Teams?

Two of those three teams got blown out by the eventual national champion. One lost by 24, the other by 21 (although if you want to make it 18 since LSU won by 3, I think that's fine).

Final rankings in 2013 had 3 SEC teams in the Top 5

#2 Auburn
#4 South Carolina
#5 Missouri

Not detracting, just adding.

This one is more unbelievable when you consider how far and fast SC and Missouri fell.

Just think if half our team hadn't gotten injured in week 3. Could have easily had 4 SEC teams in the top ~6

Five when you consider Alabama was ranked #1 until the Kick 6 and even then it took losing to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl for them to drop out of the top 5.

That team finished 11-2 and #5 in the country, which the Aggies have done once since 1956.

Yup and #3 Arky was up on #2 LSU 14-0 back when we played each other the day after thanksgiving. I remwmber that game like yesterday, i thought for a secomd we just might go to a National Championship.............i think we lost that game 41-17 but at least LSU then proceeded to get arse stomped 21-0 in the title game and I felt a lot less bad.

no team in the history of college football could have gone into Tuscaloosa in 2011 and beat Alabama, except for 2011 LSU.

Crazy how the 2 best teams in the history of college football, were in the same year.

Is this really what LSU fans tell themselves to feel better about 21-0? That 2011 Alabama defense was insane but come on.
