Did O set LSU back to the Gerry Dinardo years?

A former golden domer, Dinardo was relatively successful at LSU, finishing 1997 ranked 13th. But he really never got them on the National stage.

Those were good years my friend. A couple of Indy Bowl wins.

No. The anomaly is LSU’s few success seasons. They’re a C+ program historically.

Gerry Dinardo is also the last LSU coach to lose his first game. (He lost to A&M by 16 points.)

Feels like he went the safe route but didn't want to gamble on the younger coach with upside.
