I dont know about his personal life. Try asking one of the Aggie fans

Still haven't heard what agreement/termination he's been given. Hopefully they didn't axe him cold turkey.

Offered him a job in the athletic department sound like

they played well at the end of regular season, and up until the final loss. but their record this season was nothing to write home about. I believe the improvement we saw was only a natural maturation of younger players as the season went on.

Nope, he was well compensated to be the interim and padded his resume, most any assistant would jump at the chance.
Who knows if he wanted the job, he has made several statements previously about not wanting a HC job and had to be talked out of retirement into taking the pitching gig.
Let's be honest, barring two miracle walk off hits he would haver not even been in the conversation.

I don’t know about Gary, but I heard several A&M posters did last night.

State got super hot in the post season but was an incredibly stupid decision by FSU and also 1 pitch away from being 0-2 in their regional. State fans were pretty critical and it felt like MSU was winning in spite of Henderson this year. I think they made the right choice.

Still baffles me. I don't usually feel sorry for competitors, especially opponents, but that FSU kid didn't deserve that verdict.

Hiring an interim coach based off of emotion and friendships, leads to an orgeron level hire. Sets the program back years.

No. Give him credit for a good postseason run, but he's not the long-term solution. I'd take Lemonis over Henderson at this point in their careers, especially with Gautreau staying on the staff.

Perfect posts like this tend to kill the thread. Props to you for being level headed.

John Cohen was quoted as saying that State has and will take care of Gary Henderson.
The two of them go way back and I don’t have any doubts that will be the case.
I think he did an awesome job this year but I don’t think he was really suited for this job in the long term. But I am forever grateful for what he did this year. Just tremendous.

given the situation he was left with, I disagree. State just making the tournament this season was a mini-miracle after how they looked in February and March

No.
Did not want HC gig. He would like to remain with the baseball program in some capacity is what I've heard.
Jmo.
