LSU fans have been saying this every several days for two weeks now.

so the NCAA gathered all of the information they needed in a two hour meeting?

Cutting through all the bull, there may or may not be an NCAA inquiry, but LSU took the time to hold Smart out and investigate him, and then cleared him to play.
So I don't think LSU has anything to worry about on that account.

Regarding Wade and the meeting, I imagine the Board basically has to discuss and vote whether there is a reason to fire him or not, and I doubt they intended to do that in front of him. So yesterday was the "so what exactly are we looking at" meeting.

What we have- Wade seemingly made a very questionable statement in private, that happened to be leaked from a criminal trial (the buildup to the actual trial). If the FBI declines to release the sealed tape (and since Wade is not on trial, and he's not accused of making a deal with the guy on trial), there's really nothing else that has been turned up.

So the question is, do you fire a successful coach that you yourself can't find the dirt on, on the basis of a tape that most likely remains sealed? I just don't think so.

I expect he is reinstated next week.

The tape may remain sealed. It will likely become public.

Last year when Murray transferred out, Devon left and Heron was released to St. John's I was expecting the worse concerning Pearl's future and the NCAA...even though the reported evidence was less concerning than that of Wade. I can't imagine how I'd of felt if Harper, Chuma and Brown had all left as well. I would have been certain they knew something about what was coming.

It has to. The program can’t recover unless they either reinstate him or fire him. They can’t recruit, they can’t rebuild the staff. They have to do something very soon. I think they will fire him, and I think they’d be fools not to do so. He’s on tape confessing to have committed a major violation (offereing a player is against the rules in and of itself, so the tape is all the NCAA needs to justify a punishment.) I strongly, strongly suspect that he’ll be fired with cause next week.

what if those players declared for the draft as a sign of solidarity and an f.u. to the administration? At least 3 of the 5 LSU players will be back.

If that proves true it would be a strong statement. The way they worded the good byes seemed odd though.

When the asylum is run by Joe Alleva and F.SJW.Alexander, the inmates are an upgrade.

Bad analogy. Watch it. NBA players already bitch about being slaves.

It’s a major violation to offer money to a recruit. If the evidence shows that a coach very likely made an offer, even if it can’t be shown the offer was paid, then that’s a major violation. I think a coach on tape, telling a friend that he made an offer for a recruit, qualifies as evidence that a coach very likely made an offer.

It's never a good thing when the athletes are trying to force a narrative on a University. LSU will be setting a horrible precedent for themselves. I am sorry you can't see this.
