I think they lost too much talented guys on defense and the schedule is pretty brutal this year. I don't think LSU will be terrible.
Best case 11-1 or 10-2
Worst case 8-4 (anything less is a huge fail)

It will really depend on how well the offense plays this year. I don't think we have enough experience on defense to bail out the offense like the last two seasons. We shall see.

Best case is always 14-0 my friend.

Being realistic here Tex. I would be happy, happy, happy with 14-0, but that is really unrealistic considering what we lost on D, the schedule, new OC and Mett still hasn't proven he can throw the deep ball consistently. 10-2 is a very realistic best case.

Football offseason makes the rant feel like Groundhog Day.

I think the next thread to make the retread shuffle is a scheduling conspiracy thread. That will be followed by an Ole Miss/State hate fest and then a thread on Arky not measuring up in some form or fashion.

Need to throw in another Bama-Aggie prediction thread to complete the circle

He throws it deep just fine. He may not hit a receiver but ball go far.

yes, we lost too much to the draft. but we will have a decent team this fall and we will, once again, kick the aggies arse.

It will be good. It won't be a bad defense at all. Y'all won't "reload" but y'all won't fall into an abyss of shitty defense either.

It's called compromise, you cock.

We have a returning QB, all WRs return, and 3 RBs returning. I just hope Cam Cameron can fix the bad playcalling and the lack of passing attack.

A shitty quarterback, but you will have excellent skill players, no doubt. What will your OL situation look like?

You're right that a step forward on offense can mitigate a step back on defense.

Josh Down started ten games to freak's three and freak is a returning starter? OK.

The second returning starter at LB is Lamar Louis. Just because Tahj started the bowl doesn't make him a returning starter.

Last half of the season LSU played eight DBs a game. Of those eight, FOUR were freshmen and ONE a true soph. Do you think those guys will improve much over their '12 season? A fifth player was a JR in his first year as a starter. He is back. See him improving much in his second year starting?

LSU played six LBs a game. Three of those six were true freshmen, two of which started. Return a starting LB with 100+ tackles last year. Also return two upperclassmen at LB that sat last season due to academic suspension. Both played in the bowl with one of them starting. Tigers return seven LBs with big game experience. See much improvement there?

DL is a different story. Return two DTs as good as anyone in the conference. No experienced depth behind them though. Return three DEs with limited experience. Starting DL coming out of spring were all JRs so, they have been in the program 3-4 years. Some of the young pups will have to step up and give tigers quality minutes. Starters will need some rest.

Good thing LSU signed the best DL class in the country last february.

FYI

LSU's starting '12 defense had SEVEN NEW starters at beginning of the season.

Numbers came from something I copied either on here or another football site.

I did miss one on defense that was on this list.
How many starts did orr have because he wasn't listed as a returning starter? Same with ball?

What about joyer? What position?
