Did Kelly really say ‘it’s not about wins, it’s about molding young men?’

Yeah, sounds like hold over line from ND. He will learn that it’s only about wins.

Seems more like a Penn State quote.

For coach Kelly it’s about developing players to win on the field and in life. If your coaches are doing it just for wins on the field, he’s a failure.

“It’s a byproduct.”

He was making a point that he wants to build them as men. We need more of this in football and outside of football in our mentors.

With 263 wins (~74% rate) under his belt, not sure attacking him for winning is the best angle to take.

You missed this one.

"I came down here because I wanted to be with the best," Kelly said. "The standard of expectation. You're looked at in terms of championships here and I want that. I want to be under the bright lights.“

Then went on to add, "it's not the size of
their weenies but the goodness of heart."

It actually sounds good to us. Development of players not in the secondary has been a bit of an issue the past several years.

I mean…if it gets to the cheesy life champion shite I’ll start making fun of him, but we need stability and process.

But a few dips in LSU culture and he'll learn soon
enough.

I watched his presser. He had no good answer on why he took the LSU job. Just said alignment over and over.

Pretty obvious he’s just grabbing the cash and would have taken any job that offered the same contract.

It's about two things Saban knows well
The process
The money

Wins take care of themselves if the system is in place to allow your players to trust in what the staff is asking you to do on every other day outside of the 12 gamedays on the schedule, the results will be wins!

No one goes to LSU to win in life, especially football players. Kelly is already screwing up.

He is used to Notre Dame athletes. Once he meets the LSU guys that can barely speak English he will realize it's only about football for them.
