Calvin Ridley isn't very big either but he's still very good. Smith is a better version, IMO.

Smith's elite route running and speed will trump any size concerns. He's such a good route runner that DBs can't get their hands on him. He's very Ridley-esque in his ability to run routes with no wasted steps as well as his ability to change directions in his routes without losing any speed.

You’re right. This Board trashed Burrows measurements specifically his hand size.

Like I said Bammers are the biggest hypocrites on this board.

And you wanna get pissy about Devonta measurables.

Y’all don’t understand the difference between trolling and reality do you?

No one can deny that Burrow is amazing and same for DeVonta. Y’all need to quit taking everything so seriously.

True you do not see this often (declining to be measured). He will be a good pickup, but the NFL decision makers DO tend to over-value these measurements. Obviously he will not get taller (probably close to 6ft tall) but my hunch is that he finished the season on the light side, probably would not weigh what he wanted, and will use the time between now and Bama Pro day to put back on a few quality pounds, then let them measure him then/there. He is jockeying for a high 1st round pick, and sometimes these "little" things can mean the difference in getting picked a few slots higher/lower and a million dollars difference on his signing bonus.

Yep - bingo. My guess is he was pretty light right after the title game given the no time off stuff, and they probably tried to get him on schedule for the 2 weeks since but didn't get his weight up enough and decided it just made since to hold off until the Pro Day.

Much like a lot of guys do when they have a nagging injury and don't want to put a bad time out there. The last thing he wants is to weigh in at 163 lbs or something.

I don't really think the size thing matters that much but Russell Gage and Devonta Smith will likely have very different NFL roles.

Fair enough, but Henry Ruggs was drafted at 5'11 177 lbs as first Wr. I mean it depends where he goes also.

Remember when LSU fans said Devonta was only good because of his straight line speed?

I'd think the greatest DB in the history of college football would be able to deal with a lil touch from a frail 157 lb receiver.

Yikes
