I remembered when we kicked Bamas arse..... we could not stop Henry I thought why in the world isnt Saban giving it to him every play. He started feeding him in the 3rd quarter but I dont think we had any player or players to stop him. Hes going to be a top 10 running back all time imo.

he turns on late in the game when the D is spent. But by the same token, he’s played all game too.
He good.

Every other RB has the opportunity to turn it on late too.
He's a bad man.

Fun fact, a kid from Baker, Fl. just broke King Henry's single game rushing record Friday night. Kayleb Walker ran for 535 yards and 6 TD's as the Baker Gators beat the South Walton Seahawks 49-48.

Yeah, every Bama fan I knew wanted to run him more that night but clearly our high priced coaching staff outsmarted themselves. It took the Titans a while to realize how to use him too. You just feed him the ball and let him take his toll on the defense. He is almost always at his best in the second half. OU was the better team that night and deserved the win, but even back then, Henry was the best player on the field.

Henry was also very underutilized against Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl the very next year. I think Saban finally decided to remedy Henry's lack of touches after Yeldon went pro in 2015.

Yes, I just edited my post to point that both Bama and the Titans had to learn how to use him. He is a unique back with a kind of throwback running style.

He gets better with every carry because he doesn’t slow down and the defense gets sick of tacking him.
He’s average at the LoS, but he may be the best of all time when he gets 7-12 yards deep.

Its crazy how dangerous he is when he gets to the second and third levels. You know these d coordinators just hold their breaths every time he gets past the LOS.

I'll bet you at the end of a game, Derrick Henry is the least tired person in the locker room even if he got 30+ carries.

I cannot emphasize this enough. Do not, I repeat, do not attempt to tackle King Henry high.
