An absolute fricking travesty. For Derrick to leave without any awards is not only unexpected, it's just unequivocally incorrect. I do think anyone who had the opportunity to see him play in person could vouch for how much of a difference maker he is on the field and the fact that he's deserving of some recognition. Barn rant over.

He’s a beast. Who won the DL awards?

It's the nature of playing on the interior and getting doubled every play.

I think he'll fair far better than a majority of the other DL in the 2020 draft class because of his athletic abilities but even more so because of his maturity level and character. The guy is extremely intelligent and has a great head on his shoulders, just hate that he didn't get the recognition he deserved on a national level.

Chase Young and then he lost the outland trophy to an Oregon offensive tackle.

He is an A+ run stuffer. That helps his DC scheme knowing the interior is covered against the run. It can make his team a lot better.

But Brown isnt known as a wrecking ball against the pass. I am looking forward to seeing how he does in the NFL but curious how the passing nature of the league affects his direct success.

Chase Young feasted against weaker competition and the first game vs Wisconsin. He was a complete no show in a couple others. Young may have an impressive highlight reel, but Brown showed up every play and impacted every game.

It's hard to get many looks against the pass when you're being double teamed every single time the QB drops back. When Derrick had an open shot he always created havoc in the backfield on passing plays.

He managed 4 sacks, 2 hurries and 11.5 tackles for loss which isn't overwhelming but considering the attention he got it's very good. Davidson benefitted greatly from playing along the same line ad Derrick.

I totally agree!
There wasn't a better down lineman in college than Brown, and I guarantee the NFL scouts know it, too! The Kid's gonna be financially comfortable very soon, and I believe he'll handle his wealth properly.

It's ridiculous that Brown didn't win anything.

C'Mon Man! This thread is about D Brown, not about LSU. Don't bring some cheap trash talk into it.

I agree that Brown was deserving of the Outland Trophy. Good luck to him in the NFL.
