Delaney speak

Taking off homer glasses as best I can: Is Delaney becoming a caricature of butt hurt?

REPOST from below
The importance of this article/mindset is that Delaney has a lot of sway. The propositions rendered to Presidential Commission July 4 will be voted on by one rep of each 11 conferences and ND. Each has an equal vote I believe. No one should be surprised if Conference Champion caveat is in final proposal.

Delaney is the biggest scumbag and hypocrite associated with college sports. He fought for the TAT 5 to play in the bowl game even after they had been caught.

This is disingenuous at best. He could care less about LSU or OSU (cowboy type). A man of his position should present himself better.

Yeah...who would have a lot of regard for a team that blew out every single opponent on its schedule, minus the loss to LSU on November 5?

I understand zeal for a team or a conference...I despise dishonesty, especially dishonesty in the form of 'caring'. Note that oversigning became the B10 poster cause midway through current SEC BCS streak, not before.

What is also forgotten is that though OSU beats ISU 9 of 10 times, having a defense ranked 100+ is the reason that one time can, and did , occur. Has a top 5 club ever had that poor a D?

I bet he'd have regard for that team if it was a Big 10 team trying to break into the BCSCG.

He lost me quite awhile ago when he wrote his Love Letter to the SEC.

That team? I think we should get some kind of waiver for Alabama to play in the Big 10 for a year just to shut Delany up.

Why is everyone so vehemently opposed to the conference championship playoff idea? It really doesn't seem that bad to me. If you want a shot at the title, then don't lose in the regular season. No mulligans.

I wonder how those trend lines held up or if the talking heads and recruiting services were correct?

There is good and bad about either scenario

This presupposes a basic equality that exists say, in the NFL. 120 teams are far too many to make a playoff style manageable. Ultimately the human eye is the best judge till the number of teams are pared downed considerably. IMO.

Delaney is one of the biggest self-important scumbags out there, and that's saying a lot as there are a lot of them.

Let's put it this way. If there was role reversal for 2011 I'd have no problem with a Bama/OSU matchup and LSU to the Sugar bowl. I'd have a helluva problem with Bama/OSU/Oregon/? playoff and LSU to the Sugar bowl.

Personally I'd rather they drop the conference champs portion of the proposal and just take the top 4 per the BCS formula. Would be better than what we have now, IMO.

Delaney wants the SEC out of the picture when it comes to the BCSNCG and he is going to world's end to make sure a process is in place that will seriously screw the SEC with extreme hard-on.

If you can't beat 'em on the field, the next best thing is to keep from getting there in the first place.

I can guarantee his playoff format will match the SEC against the toughest possible opponent, while the Big Ten will play the weaker of the playoff teams.

One of the reasons why they dont really want it(top 4) and why a playoff has not happened in the past, is they want to keep the integrity of the bowl system, which is conferences playing each other. When you have the top 4, that doesnt alsways happen and like said above, when you have so many teams, it is more of an eye test on which teams with the similar records are actually the better team.

Then you have a situation just like last year when the 1 and 2 ranked teams have a chance to not play.
